When the first webOS phone came out, a lot of you took a chance on our new platform. We appreciate your support -- as customers, as champions, and even occasionally as our most thoughtful critics -- and we’d like to make it just a little easier for you to experience the latest version of the power of HP webOS.
Through July 31, you can get a $50 rebate on the purchase of a new 32GB TouchPad. Proof of ownership of a Palm Pre, Pre Plus, Pixi, or Pixi Plus (initially in the US or Canada) will be required. This mail-in rebate is good wherever you buy your TouchPad, including preorders and reservations. (Watch your email inbox for details.)
And to help showcase how the TouchPad “works like nothing else,” HP is giving you a chance to win free TouchPads or one of several “prizes like nothing else” (everything from the chance to experience zero gravity or to ride with racing legend Mario Andretti). Check out the virtual TouchPad LaunchLine on Facebook here.

Will my original pre packaging count? I dont have receipts from a cell phone I bought 2 years ago.

Finding my receipt from the Sprint store the morning I camped out to get a Palm Pre over two years ago is going to be.. challenging. Maybe I can find one of my other webOS device receipts hmm

I still have my Pre- on Sprint and would've preordered if this offer was good on the 16gb touchpad. Also, please bring the Pre3 to Sprint!

Hope this will eventually be extended, with appropriate dates, to other countries. =)

What's with early adopter of other countries like Germany as example?
Posted by: ahel | June 28, 2011 at 02:01 PM
Is this how you want to "make it right"? Good for those who want to buy TouchPads, for those who don't however ...
Nevertheless, a great opportunity and thank you very much :) I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll offer this in Germany as well. Bought my Pre on one of the release parties O2 was having (the one in Dortmund).

"initially in the US or Canada"
Sorry to be blunt but I'm not exactly interested in waiting for this to materialise in EU "in the coming months", especially after the botched "fixing" the geo-restrictions (as described in the forums). I wan't to buy my TouchPad now! :) not at some unspecified future date..
Just announce that you'll give us the choice of $50 off at buying or $50 to buy apps for at a later date. Then people outside US and Canada won't hesitate to buy the TP.

Watch for an email with all the details.

Well, it's not a Pre3 on Sprint, but it will do.
Just remember to unthaw me when the Pre3 hits Sprint. I don't want to wake up in a future where otters rule.

That's awesome! I hope something similar will go for the Pre 3.

Im pretty sure I sent my receipt in for a Sprint rebate on the Palm Pre.

Nice to see some love for the Sprint people. Hope you can extend it to Europe too.

Could you explain the timing of this? Would it not have made sense to announce this prior to the beginning of pre-ordering?
I have a 16GB Touchpad on order to go with my new Veer. Had I known the difference in price would only by $50, I probably would have gotten the 32GB.
It is not the best idea to train consumers NOT to race out to buy your products ASAP.

Also, somebody tell me if I can use the same Palm Profile on the Touchpad that I currently use on my Pre- (1.4.5).

so early adopters, after suffering through your pathetic customer care, now need to pony up $100 more to get $50 back?
Are you guys for real? Do you guys have any regards for your most loyal customers? or its all just $$$ in your greedy eyes?

Okay Too Little Too Late - I have my Obsolete Sprint Pre Minus - And I am getting the feeling that I will be left out in the cold when the Pre 3 comes out.
I don't Need an tablet I do need a Phone. And Why would I get the Touchpad when I have Nothing to touch it with?
Come On HP/Palm Sprint - Lets get the Pre 3 on Sprint - and I'll take the rebate then!!!!

1) I'm glad to finally see a 'making it right deal' for us early adopters.
2) I'm a bit disappointed that it's only $50
3) I'm also disappointed that it's only for the 32GB, I was planning on buying the 16GB...
I'd like to see $100 off 32GB or/also add a $50 off for the 16GB. Please. Please.

please HP ... Pre3 on Sprint ...

I don't want or need a Touchpad. All I want is to be able to purchase a new webOS phone on Sprint. If that is not available by the time my launch day Palm Pre finally kicks the bucket, then I may have to say goodbye to webOS (which I really don't want to do but refuse to pay more per month to switch carriers).

Would be interested to know when this kind of discount will be available to early adopters in the UK to use towards the TouchPad or Pre 3? Many thanks.
Posted by: David | June 28, 2011 at 02:23 PM
I DON'T want a touchpad!!!! I want a Pre 3!!!! I am on Sprint. Can someone at HPalm give some indication if this will/will not happen, and if so, get the loyality discount, please?

Palm , Please bring this deal across the pond to the UK. Also could you get the devices into UK shops fast. My pre H/W has been replaced 3 times and so I need to see the Palm Touchpad and Palm pre3 H/W before I part with any money. Selling it exclusively through the internet isn't going to cut it for me. Or alternatively, invite me to one of your exclusive events where I can try it out. regards JLT MBCS CITP
