AT&T today announced that the HP Veer 4G will be available from AT&T at its stores and online on May 15. Veer, which AT&T will offer in both black and white versions for $99.99 with a two-year contract, is one of the smallest no-compromises smartphones on the market. With AT&T’s 4G speeds, you can upload and download videos, maps, and pictures faster than ever, and view them on Veer’s vivid touchscreen. Plus you get all those great webOS features -- Just Type, HP Synergy, easy and fast messaging and email, and the ability to keep multiple apps open at once and easily switch back and forth between them.
Don’t let Veer’s small size fool you -- the flexibility of webOS makes a great smartphone experience possible on a smaller screen, so it packs a punch with lots of available apps from the webOS App Catalog. And new optional AT&T billing makes purchasing apps for Veer even easier. With just a tap, Veer customers will be able to buy apps on their phone and have the cost added to their monthly AT&T bill.
If you're a developer interested in tailoring your webOS apps for Veer, here’s some helpful info. More details about Veer can be found here.

and how, exactly, does this fit with "making things right" for early adopters ? Or was that just another empty promise/downright lie from HP/Palm ?

Congrats HP (Palm)!! Now please release on Verizon... please!!!

I really hope that HP doesn't forget all the original Pre owners, because if they don't do something for us I'm certainly not buying another WebOS device... it's a great OS but they just left us to rot with our faith on Palm, the Pre and WebOS... and that's a pity.

Making things right? Nearly three months that you promised it.
Products available once they are announced? Was wrong for the February introduction, and today it is still wrong. May 15th is nearly two weeks from today.
What's the release date for Europe? Australia? Mexico? World? Another fail.
Looks like you promise EVERYTHING. But haven't learned ANYTHING.

I want one only because it has webOS, other than that I'd never get one. But I am on Sprint, so where are our devices? My Pre Classic is very outdated but I love webOS!! So please give us some devices!

I'm on Sprint with the original Pre, waiting and waiting and waiting... and still waiting for that promise to "make things right." HP/Palm.. You don't have a lot of good-will left. If you really mean to make it right, then do something for all of us Sprint users who have been MORE than patient with the waiting and the evangelizing!!
I'm pissed.

Bring it to Verizon. I want nothing to do with AT&T.

Seriously? Your re-launch of webOS goes to an exclusive on AT&T? Wow, who's running the show at HP? You have a ton of folks on sprint, with original contracts expiring or about to expire, and no access to the iphone, seems like a prime market, yet you chose AT&T, the crappiest network in the USA? I want a new webOS phone bad, but not enough to switch to AT&T. I think HP is writing the manual to the failboat, you really couldn't have done this more wrong. You have to get information out to the public NOW! When is the pre3 coming, and to what network? Not tough questions. Guess I'll just keep using my original pre until it dies, which won't be long.

I've had every palm smartphone since the samsung i500, and been on sprint since the beginning when they only had 2 phones, and this is how you treat me? Shame on you palm and sprint, get your stuff together, and actually try and compete in the market. Talk is cheap, and I've grown tired of empty promises and the dangling carrot. I'm the most loyal, diehard type of customer you have, and I've had enough, imaging how non-loyal fans feel.

Too LITTLE, too LATE HP Palm...sorry but one little release one one carrier and not even for those loyal sprint users? You guys just do not get it at all, not even close.
Posted by: Sevorg | May 04, 2011 at 08:31 AM
Ditto the others. I love webOS but you've made nothing right, and if I don't see the Pre 3 on Sprint very soon I'm moving on, and I won't be coming back. HP, time to use your cash to make things right with your customers!

am i the only one that finds the GBU suffix extremely ironic? Global business unit? i'm luckily in the U.S. and i have AT&T but i have friends and know quite a few people outside this country who have never been able to even acess the preplus let alone the 2 or the veer. You guys need to get with the times. Globalization is here to stay, and the global markets dont want geo-restricted products. Come on guys this is seriously embarrassing.

What bothers me most is that Palm, and now HP, keeps making vague and empty promises but never seem to follow-through. I realize that there may be a lot going on, but don't mislead and mistreat your customer, especially a customer-base that's as loyal and as supportive as the webOS community.
Realize that sooner or later, that good-will is going to disappear. And, realize that we are all being courted by other manufacturer and OSes. Just walk into any retail store now and ask about webOS and see what happens. I even get calls from Sprint pushing Android.
The more you stay silent and make vague, empty promises, the easier you are making the decisions for those of us on Sprint to jump-ship.

I want one! It is really the phone i want but i live in Italy ... when is the europe release date/price?

+----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
+ So now will HP keep their promise "To Make Things" right?
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Will AT&T Pre+ or Pixi+ users get a free Veer or a large rebate?
What about your Sprint Pre user stuck with an unsupported device for another year and a half?
Why spend good money purchase another WebOS product when HP has shown a complete lack of commitment to your customers?
MAKE THINGS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Disgruntled Legacy Customer | May 04, 2011 at 08:42 AM
Why is HP working with VZ and AT&T? Their largest customer base is on Sprint! (Well it was not sure about now!!)
VZ and AT&T are stuck on iPhone and Droid. Where is your marketing sense HP/Palm? Pretty close to zero people will switch providers for your products, the loyal ones on Sprint are there because of the value priced plans.
I really want to be your customer HP! Please help me with that because my Sprint Pre is all I have and once it goes I can't (currently) buy any additional products from you for my carrier! Are you all even listening to your customers over there? My story isn't unique. There are thousands just like it.

I am so excited to see the Veer finally launch. Oh and - people - please stop pineing for HP to "make things right" on a post talking about the launch of a new phone. Talk about petulance. ugh. Everyone knows what was promised and what ended up happening. It's way past time to move on. Either buy a webOS phone or don't. End of story.
