Don't forget those that have covered webOS 2.1 on original devices more than anyone else! That would be PhoneNews.com, by the way...

sigh... If I only had a release date on the Pre 3, I wouldn't be so tempted to jump ship.

You guys are making it harder and harder to stay with you...I love webOS, but I've had my Pre Minus for far too long and we can't even get info a release date OR a carrier for the Pre3! Every week I have to tell myself to just wait a bit longer, and every week the struggle is harder. And I'm about to lose my free upgrade from Sprint in a week (granted, my contract is also up in 4 months), so I have to tell you - if I wasted my upgrade for a phone that isn't coming (like the Pre+, the Pre2), buh-bye HP/Palm.

Soo...who else is getting the EVO 3D?? Lol ...I wish I were getting the prē 3 but....? Yeah.

got problems with my Palm Pre Plus from SFR (currently running on T-Mobile USA). I updated it to webOS 2.1 and since then, google maps and google talk don't work correctly!! Facebook app doesn't show the photo comments either. Palm do something quickly !!
We've been fooled enough already !

How about something tangible like "The release date for the (fill in the blank) is (fill in the blank) for the (fill in the blank) network." Anything else is just insulting at this point.

Sticking with Sprint until I know more about the Pre3.

If i need to replace the glass in my palm pilot V, do I have to disconnect the battery?

make things right. this means, stop being "slow as hp" and start being "cool as hp" + make things right for the pre- owners.

I still like the WebOS interface over the iOS, but this prolonged saga of no release date for a new device and absence of developers making useful apps continues to be ridiculous. Again today, I had my daily attempt to open a pdf from my email on my Palm Pre only to have the pdf reader freeze. Also, my Palm Pre runs soooo sloooow. Ultimately, despite my preference of WebOS over the iOS, I find myself using a first generation iPod Touch throughout the day to actually get done what I need to get done and have fun with apps that I am interested in using. By the way, the first generation iPod touch has maxed its OS update potential at iOS 3. Yet, I still have many many more useful apps to choose from when comparing the WebOS options. Now I really need a newer iPhone or iPod touch with iOS 4 to fully utilize the newest versions of the apps that are available. HELLO HP/PALM!!! Notice that I can't even seriously consider a Palm device as an option any longer. You are supposedly the largest computer company in the world and you are still so ridiculously far behind the competition that I can no longer look at you as credible any longer. Even if the next device is awesome, the history up to this point is really too tenuous to inspire confidence in the consumers or developers. Despite liking WebOS, I can function better through my day with a first generation iPod touch that was debuted in September 2007 and is running iOS3 and not the newest iOS4. What is wrong with this picture? I could wait for the random and unpredictable day that the Pre 3 shows up, but why? (At this point, I'm just holding out for the iPhone 5 which might appear sooner!!) Unpredictable device release dates and software updates as well as carrying an extra device (the first generation iPod) in my pocket to get through the day make this whole Pre thing not logical at all. I keep saying to myself that WebOS is great and that I like it, but any objective person would have to question why anyone would go through this kind of hassle. I think that customer loyalty to the utility of the Palm device is gone and maybe HP can sell this kind of amateur product development and support to the junior high and high school kids who are big in the social networking and twitter craze. (My Palm Pre does texting really well!) Maybe the kids are a bigger market, but if those apps freeze and the 2 year old device seems slower than the new stuff on the market, the kids will also look elsewhere. They may be young, but they will also want new gadgets that do everything the competition does and more. Sorry to all of you working on this, but this is the cold hard truth at the moment.

What's up with the touch.facebook.com app pre installed in the palm pre for sprint? The Live feeds not working?

I've had a unbroken series of Palm devices since the late 1990's. And I've loved them all. I have a first generation Pre and I really really want to get the Pre3. I'm with Sprint and frankly I'm worried they won't carry it. I really hope they do and that the campaign for the new device is better than the one for my Pre. That was a really sorry excuse for a technology ad campaign. Pitiful and annoying. But it didn't dissuade me and I remain hopeful for the Pre3 and the Touchpad. WebOS is a great interface. So let's get on with it!

What "customer programs? Really? As I see it HP has no intentions to retain their once loyal customers and instead through silence and lack for forethought has kicked us to the curb.
What good is it to send us on a rabbit chase of urls to re-read the same vaporware promises that we long stopped believing?
What "customer programs" truly exist for users stuck with a Sprint Pre for another 1.5 years (as Sprint has changed their premier program)?
Instead of more talk just ACT and give us concrete details NOW on WHEN and HOW you will make things right. Otherwise given HP's complete disregard for it's customers I have no intentions of buying another WebOS product ever again!!!

Can we at least get a closer estimate of the release date (early summer, mid-summer, late summer)? I'd like if I'm waiting on the first week of June or the second week of September.

I love WebOS but this is ridiculous. HP keeps saying devices are coming soon. When??!! I had the original Pre on Sprint but jumped ship last year for the iPhone 4. I still have my Palm Pre and all of the accessories and they are now collecting dust because you left Sprint customers high and dry!

I feel that you have let us all down. And jumping ship is in my next phone.

Actually looking forward to getting a Pre3 and a Touchpad when they come out. I would prefer a launch date but on the other hand I would rather they get it right than set some artificial deadline that leads to the offering of a sub-par product as others have done. For HP to acquire palm in the time that it has and turn around a product as soon as they have is impressive. ipads have been in development for years and give Apple a head start on producing their successive models. I am willing to wait for a good product and hope that it exceeds my expectations.

This developer just bought a Mac and is starting to write the app he was going to write for WebOS and had hoped to use on his Pre-. I'm not interesting in writing apps for a framework that no one can ever (and I'll bet likely ever) be able to use on real hardware.
Bye Palm.

The Web OS is wonderful. Too bad you can't do anything on it. Run a search on the app store for: Twitter, Skype, Excel, Microsoft office, .... and what do you get? NOTHING! You can't even find a decent solitaire game. I love my Palm Tungsten. You can clearly see how the IPOD and Iphone are copies of the Palm platform. And to this day Documents to go on the Tungsten outperforms the IOS version handily. BUT can you even get Doc's to go on the Pre? NO! And you never will, because Datavis isn't going to do it. So why should I waste my time supporting HP waiting for them to become relevant? You have given me the world's greatest toolbox, but it has no tools outside of a basic hammer and wrench. So see you in 2 years when my contract for the Iphone4 runs out. or maybe not......!

BTW, Like 'Steve', I am going more & more to my Ipod touch to get things done because of the versatility it allows. Clearly, the webos is the better operating system. But what does that matter when I can do so little with it. You're a 36 B$ company. Go spend a few million to entice developers to write decent apps. What's the point. Even if you did start listening to your (ex?) customers, it would take you 5 years to put anything into place. Let the nightmare end. Iphone, Iphone, Iphone

...and we are ALL still waiting for HP/Palm to "make things right" in the "coming weeks". How many more weeks are coming? Did you think we had forgotten your promise? I hope that you are not banking on that!!!
I think we have all been REALLY patient with you rolling out some phantom program or some type of path to WebOS 2.x.
The reality is - TIME'S UP!! You have thousands ready to jump ship for another device...most of whom won't post a comment here for your convenience. You'll just notice a huge drop in sales, that's all...
