Palm webOS 1.4.5 has been released for Pixi Plus on Verizon Wireless. And that means it’s game time!
With 1.4.5’s support for PDK gaming on the Pixi platform, Verizon Pixi Plus customers can now enjoy games built with the webOS PDK (Plug-in Development Kit), including 3D games. Popular titles now available for Pixi Plus on Verizon include “Crusade of Destiny,” “ExZeus,” “Galcon,” “Assassin's Creed - Altaïr's Chronicles” and “Need for Speed Undercover.”
You can find these and other great new games for Pixi Plus in the Palm App Catalog, so check them out. The detailed 1.4.5 release notes for Verizon Pixi Plus can be found here.

Sounds cool. I'm gonna go update now. I also have a suggestion for another update. Could the next update give the Mobile Hotspot app some more features? It would be nice if someone joins your hotspot and you don't want them on, you should be able to kick them off by tapping their name and then "kick". Just an idea. Also, is there an email address where I can send Palm some of my ideas and suggestions? Something like a feedback email address?

Now PLEASE give me and my friends paid apps for our legal unlocked Pre's bought in Germany, when we activate them and live in e.g. The Netherlands, and you have more sold, more profit and more happy customers. Why STILL blocking paid apps for us?

Then why is it when I go to the games you have linked above, they are only "Available for:" the Palm Pre?

Gotta admit the way you and all the carriers are handling this roll out is ridiculous. First Europe, a month later Sprint, two weeks later you release 1.4.5. ONLY for VZW Pixi Plus?! This just makes no sense! Why would a firmware update that is ready for one phone on a carrier NOT be ready for ALL phones on that carrier. If you handle the 2.0 roll out like this, I expect to see it on my Pre Plus in 2012.
Congrats to you Pixi Plus owners, tho!

I have Verizon. I have a Pixi Plus. I have 1.4.5. However I don't have these games. NONE of these games are available yet for the Pixi Plus. if you go to the App Catalog its quite clear. I am disappointed in your reporting.

I recently contacted Verizon and they put me through to a Palm Rep. The representative from Palm indicates that the engineers still don't have a release date for the Verizon Pre Plus. But he assured me that the update only really adds functionality to the Pixi (3D graphics, etc). A fact I was already well aware of.
I tried to relay to him that I was unable to obtain quite a few new/updated apps because they were written for WebOS 1.4.5. His response to me was that I should contact the app developers.
I'm sure the app developers are just chomping at the bit to write a special version of their app for Palm Pre users on Verizon./s
This is getting ridiculous, just release the update to Verizon Pre Plus users already.

The utter inaction of Palm to address the issue of limited functionality (due to the lack of OS update) Pre Plus is frustrating. The utter lack of communication to us on when they will give us this important update large factor in why i will likely not be buying a Palm product again.
Every day I grow angrier and more frustrated when I read about the latest cool app or game which I cannot use, because my OS version is, for the most part, obsolete. Some gaps are acceptable, but lag times of several weeks are unacceptable when it causes your phone to have limited functionality.
I was first in line at Verizon when the Pre Plus came out. I bought 2 touchstones and a car charger in anticipation. I had the misguided notion that I was buying a top tier smart phone. I know now that this was not the case.

Could not agree with the Pre users any more. This is my first experience with Palm. I bought the Pre 2 months ago and loved it. But quickly found out it cannot get Adobe Flash AND updates, including security updates!! I'm very disappointed in Palm's service. With a new 2 year contract signed, I am sure that I will only grow more frustrated. Once this contract is up, I will probably have no desire to even look at a Palm product again and advise my friends and family to do the same. I miss my Blackberry.

why say that you can obtain 3D games for the palm pixi plus when infact its clear that you can't? Isn't that called miss leading people?

When are they gonna have a newer update to the Palm Pixi Plus? I think it would be cool if it gave us some options to change some of the features of messaging and the menu part and the icons on the screen and the menu, I think that would be really cool. Thank you, and I hope you take my idea into consideration.

This blog should be updated- these games are still not available on the Pixi. Why are so few of the PDK 3d games available on the Pixi?
