Today, Palm becomes part of the largest technology company in the world, HP.
It’s our first day together, but it’s already abundantly clear to everyone who’s been involved in bringing the two companies together that great things are in store. The combination of Palm’s trailblazing webOS and HP’s strength as the leading provider of everything from PCs, laptops, and printers to home electronics and enterprise systems promises an amazing roadmap of new tools for your mobile and web-connected future.
We’ve got a few ideas about what that future will look like, and we’ll share details as soon as we can. A big part of that future will be shaped by you, the Palm community of customers, developers, and enthusiasts. We welcome your ideas and feedback -- even your constructive criticism. Just follow @palm on Twitter or drop in at www.facebook.com/palm
for starters give up the 1.4.5 update with flash and 3d gaming for the pix and pdk for the pre and pixi and thats a good way to start off :)

I have the first launch Palm Pre on Sprint and I love it; however, I am ready for an upgraded Pre. How about making this day even better by announcing what the Palm C40 is and when it will be launched. :) That would be awesome!

Let's make a smartphone with a bigger screen. 3D gaming is so much more fun with a bigger screen!

I am guardedly hopeful that Palm can develop a worthy successor to the Treo because the Pre sadly was not. Because of its shortcomings I was forced to go Blackberry and I am NOT happy with it -I really miss the Palm software.
Some constructive critisism and sugggestions:
Make a device that is like a Treo/ blackberry again but more powerful than Pixi. The Pre while a great idea is not easy to type on. Not sure if it is the form factor but the tiny, bubble keys are no good. MUST have a great keyboard. Maybe do Pre screen on one side and a Treo on the other side.
-Lots of memory with micro SD too
-Fast processor
-high res camera and video camera
-MUST sync with MS Exchange enterprise easily either directly or with Goodlink which is WAY better than Blackberry
-MUST be able to search across every major funciton easily : Calendar, tasks, memos, to do lists
-Have a great web-browsing interface
-Multi-tasking
-Exchangable battery
-Standard mini USB charger. PLEASE do not torture your clients with another proprietary plug, that is simply obnoxious.
-high resolution screen or screens

Congratulations to Palm and HP! My first suggestion to you is: Be a leader, especially on mobile hardware, not a follower! (Example: the silly 5 MP camera on the iPhone 4.) Now is the time for you to blow everyone out of the water!

Huge Palm fan! I also own a few HP products as well :). I'm really excited about this, and can't wait to see some new 4G phones and maybe a tablet. Impress me HP/Palm. Wish you the best! HP, you are going to get more than your money's worth out of WebOS!

Congrats to Palm for joining HP. I really like HP products and own a few of their computers and printers. Can't wait for WebOS's future development.
