Ready to boldly go where few thumbs have gone before? Maybe you thought the spacebar on your Palm Pre Plus or Pixi Plus was just for inserting spaces. But behold! The multifaceted power of the spacebar:
- When using the calculator, just press the spacebar to see advanced operations like square root and percentage.
- After you hit the spacebar, your Palm webOS phone will auto-correct misspelled words, or turn phrases like “how r u?” into “how are you?” But if you prefer what you actually typed, just hit backspace to revert to your original spelling.
- Pressing the spacebar to capture a self-portrait picture in the Camera app will probably be easier than tapping the screen. And you can press it and hold down the spacebar to take a rapid succession of photos. (Handy if you want to create your own stop-motion animation of attacking Klingon Warbirds.)

space bar WAS great for photos ... but ever since the video was added to the camera app, the camera app is SO slow and laggy, the space bar cant take quick consecutive pics any longer

It'd be pretty sweet if pressing spacebar twice would do a period-space-capital maneuver.

Aww, I thought this was going to be about a bar in space. Dang budget cuts.

I agree that the photo app needs to be reviewed. The camera used to work fast but now it freezes and you can never get the shot you want. Palm needs to fix this. When I see phones like the incredible taking 8MP images with ease and no lag, it makes me think about switching.
Better yet, release a 1Ghz phone with WebOS.
PLEASE!!!

I'm really excited about the auto-correct feature! But will this be implemented in webOS 1.5? or has it already been implemented in 1.4.1.1 and I just haven't noticed?

The Warbirds were Romulan, not Klingon. Great phones deserve great editing. ;-)

How to switch the auto-correct off? I am using Czech language and we use "u" as the "by" in English. When I hit spacebar after "u", it auto-corrects the Czech "u" to English "you", which is a functionality, which I don´t really need.

Gracias
