Looking for some great new apps for your Palm webOS phone?
Check out the new
titles zooming up the "Hot Apps" leaderboard. The Hot Apps competition is offering prizes to
the developers who come up with most popular apps, and you'll find all kinds
of new goodies racing up the charts. (There are separate rankings for free
and paid apps.)
Among the current favorites:
- TweetMe: A beautifully designed Twitter client that leverages Palm webOS to keep you updated and keep your own updates flowing.
- Flight Predictor: Because what you want to know is whether you're REALLY going to be on time or not.
- PodSnatcher: A handy way to take your audio and video podcasts with you.
- Mobsters: Big Apple: This free app is definitely an offer you can't refuse.
After you've browsed some of the Fast Movers on the leaderboard (and maybe downloaded a few!), clue your friends in on the goodies. You can help us spread the word by tweeting the following: "I'm tweeting about Palm's cool Hot Apps (http://tinyurl.com/2amjk7o) for a chance to win one of 10 Touchstones #fastmovers". We'll randomly pick ten people who retweet before 11:59 PM on May 31, 2010 and send them a free Touchstone. (See official rules here.)
We¹d also love to hear about your favorite new apps -- post a comment below or tweet using the hashtag #fastmovers.

Why only USA :( What about Europe and countries where there are officially no Palm products but users use them?

I'd love to see Palm start winning over some significant developers. But, the company needs some love from HP and transformation before it will be taken seriously again. It could probably stand to learn quite a bit from its customers and potential customers. Maybe try fixing problems that the big guys are ignoring. There are plenty of issues out there that consumers are voicing, but no one is listening. Palm could be the underdog that actually creates what the smartphone market actually wants. Good luck guys.

Yes! Why no people outside the USA. Or outside the regular markets? Why not ALL people on the globe?
PS: And please start selling the webOS devices like Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus in other countries as well. Like Switzerland. :-)

Please work on promoting productivity apps - the built in PIM ones like Tasks and Memos are so gimped it hurts.
Your competitors (too painful to think about) even have hooks to sync tasks and memos out of the box to desktop apps, why not Palm?

I don't care about winning another touchstone. I'd just like to be able to purchase apps from Switzerland...

Thanks for the heads up on TweetMe. Really slick app! Too bad I missed the chance to win a touchstone!
Just picked up a Pre last week and I'm really enjoying it so far.

DOUBLE TWIST IS FREE
Looks like a mirror image of iTunes and allows you to DOUBLE TWIST IS FREE; IT DOWNLOADS TO YOUR DESKTOP Copies Everything you want, Pictures, Ringtones, Wall Papers, Album Art; To make it simple in iTunes I created a "Palm Pre" playlist and sync'd it so that I had only what I wanted on my phone. the benefit is when you purchase your songs you now have music to listen to, ringtones for friends and alerts for alarm clocks

Just got my Palm Pre-plus about a month ago (Verizon). My son-in-law (also Verizon)opted for a Droid. I am amazed at the Google Sky Map App (free)on his Droid. I have an interest in astronomy and would love to have that App. I have considered switching to a Droid for that reason. Any possibility Palm will be offering Google Sky Map any time soon?

I just got my Palm Pre Plus (here in Switzerland).
Unfortunately, most apps in the app catalog are NOT available.
Using the direct link on the web doesn't help, since it does not accept phone numbers for Switzerland (+41).
Any advice.
Thanks in advance.

You know what app would make my year? An Audible player!! Seriously cannot believe that after a year there still isn't one. Audible kinda blames Palm for there not being one yet. (Search their help at http://audible.custhelp.com/ for "palm pre" to see what they say since direct linking doesn't work.) Whatever the reality of the situation, until Palm & Audible make an app happen I have to carry around a 3-year-old, $30 Creative ZEN mp3 player with me when I own a shiny Palm Pre. Please help!
