Lots of you seem to really appreciate the look and feel of your Palm phone. And the Touchstone Charging Dock gets its share of jaw-dropping attention. We think both products are pretty cool too, but their cool factor was kicked up a few notches recently with some major design kudos.
The international "red dot design award" is one of the largest and most renowned design competitions in the world. Palm Pre and Touchstone, along with this year's other winning products, will be in good company on display in the red dot design museum at the Zollverein World Cultural Heritage site in Essen, Germany.
And speaking of good company, both Palm Pre and Touchstone also each received a Good Design Award. The awards, organized by the Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (JIDPO), have been given to outstanding designs for more than 50 years.
Two products. Two very respected design awards. How's that for a two-two punch?
Paul Araquistain, Palm PR
Congratulations! I'd love to see the Touchstone in more places, like my car. Thanks.

I love my Palm Pixi, but I don't know how to make it go back. Like with contacts you have to exit one and go back to the menu and pick contacts ahain to get another contact. Please help!

I wonder if Palm would get an award for putting flash on the Pre?

I like the WebOS!! I currently have an iPhone, but am planning to switch to WebOS which I consider a much better user experience...but here's what's holding me back: I like the overall design of the phone, but I really think it should have a bigger screen, virtual keyboard and expandable memory. Also considering the specs on the upcoming HTC EVO and new iPhone, the idea of such an advanced phone having a slide out keyboard with such tiny keys is at best dated, at worst a big mistake if it makes it into newer designs. Moving parts add potential for breakage. Get away from the stagnant blackberry-esque keypad! I am hoping to see something better later this year. Then I'll buy it.

Love my palm pre. I have the touchstone and I have a question. When it is charging the charging flag at the bottom pops up at regular intervals, but when it does the phone also makes a bling sound. Is this normal? The phone at the verizon store which is sitting on the Touchstone, does not. If I switch the ringer off it is silent but so is any incoming calls. Is there a setting to turn this off and leave the ringer on?

I am happy with my palm pre, but was wondering when flash player 10 would be available. And why I can't get an earlier version some web sites won't work without it. Is there another way to get something that will work? Thanks for any help.

Real issue with the Palm designed hard shell case and the Touchtone. The thickness of the plastic cover is close to the tolerance levels of how far the phone can be away from the Touchtone to work. I get seriously irritated that the phone before achieving 100% charge starts this on then off then on sound when sitting untouched on the Touchtone as if I'm removing the phone and replacing it over and over. Can't you design a hard shell case that doesn't cause this to happen? I take the case off and set the phone on the Touchtone and the charging logic seems to work perfect. It charges to 100% then sits there - quietly. When its doing its on and off and on thing in the hard shell case, I've noticed the phone gets pretty warm too. Again, I want to emphasize this is the Palm designed hard shell case that has the circle in the back of it to help it sit on the Touchtone. Please advise if you come up with a solution.

I've had my Palm Pre Plus for about a month and really Digging It!!!! I had a Samsung i760 and a Verizon Mifi2200.
THEN....Verizon offers me an upgrade to the Palm for $49 with unlimited web ($29 a month) and hot spot enabled for $0 saving me 30 samolies a month...yea, Baby!! My Palm is 2 devices in one! I can connect to a any free wifi when available or use VZW's 3G and connect both laptops, netbook, my i760, and my wife's i760 to the web, if I so please.
I've downloaded many cool free useful apps (and some fun ones, too)!! WebOS "Kicks $%*#".
Palm Pre Plus + Verizon 3G is the way to go - Apple and AT&T can keep running...I'm convinced!!!
