Lorre

I'm curious as to why you can't put a message in the app catalog - where people are actually having the problem. I just used a lot of time trying to find out what was wrong with the application download process only to find much later that it's the catalog that's not working.

This is neither helpful nor useful.

cantaffordit

thanks. An occaisional word from Palm keeps the users frpm panicing...

Connor LaCombe

Is this also why the Developer Center is down?

Courtney

How in good conscious could Palm accept payments for apps that can't be downloaded?

Shawn

Your update does not mention the issue of rebooting and getting the message about you no longer being signed into your Palm profile, then no matter what you do, you end up loosing all your apps (I chose the Just reboot option and it went through a full setup). Not that this is a huge deal or anything. It was just a little annoying to spend 20 minutes waiting for my phone to work again while looking for a place to eat.

Bethany

This is not a good look I just bought my Pixi 2 hours ago and it is not working. Please don't make me take it back :(

Austin

My apps are getting tons of negative reviews for failed installs. Please post a message in the catalog, so people know it's not the individual apps fault, but the catalog overall.

Joshua

Thanks! I know you guys will fix it. I've never seen the catalog go down or have an error, ever, so I appreciate that you guys are working overtime to address what's caused the hiccup.

Tony

This is just great. My app is getting ratings of 0 stars because the download fails. Can these be removed?

Philip

My phone just appeared to reset itself, and now the App Catalog seems to be working again. Thanks Palm!

waynebeer

thanks 4 the mssg. How about making a mssg warn re the prob. When the app cat is opened. Re: a post re taking money ( by palm) in good faith. Most of what one can purchase is very inexpensive AND if you don't trust Palm you can't trust NE1. Palm will fix the hiccup & proceed just as every other company would/will when a glitch happens to a known good working system. Relax, enjoy, deep breaths ...

Sweetthang1864

Joshua, you are absolutely right! I've had my Pre since they first came out and this is the FIRST and ONLY time there has been a problem like this. I know they will fix it soon!

Arthur Thornton

I was looking at the code to try and find out why it was failing (specifically), and saw it was failing to verify the package. I was continuing to work on it, and then two packages were able to install. I didn't modify any code beyond a very simple Mojo.Log.error((...)), so I guess the engineers at Palm figured it out.

Terry

@Courtney - I am assuming the payment process happens first and then you download the app

@Bethany - Give your device a couple of days, don't let one thing get you down.

@Lorre - I agree they should be able to put up a message in the app catalog letting people know of the issue.

Michael Rosenhart

Wow, this was insanely frustrating for me this morning. I'm glad it was a problem with palm's servers rather than a problem with my phone itself. Still, it was really frustrating trying to figure out what on earth was going on.

Esamek

I'd still like to understand what exactly it was that caused this error. Were you guys at Palm doing some kind of behind the scenes tweaking? Or were you quietly preparing phones for an update?

Explain more?

Mark van der Hijden

Nice that there is an update on the app catalog, but WHEN oh WHEN is the app catalog going to work for my Palm Pre activated on a Dutch network in the unofficial country The Netherlands? We've been waiting forever to get to paid apps with our unlocked Palm Pre's bought in Germany!

Andrew

To give you some perspective the users in unofficial countries havent been able to access the catalog since 5½ months back when it used to work perfect until palm decided to block them. If they got the patience to wait maybe we can wait a day or so for this to be fixed?

Randy

When is Palm going to provide voice activated dialing for the Palm Pre Plus?
I would think with a phone geared toward business applications this would be a standard feature. With so many states passing laws requiring hands-free only cell phone use it is going to be a necessity!

Randy

CopenhagenBird

I cannot even find the app catalog on mine. Do some not come with it?

Sandie

Well, what i did was..call Palm,& they reset my phone manually ,re-enter all my info into my palm's profile,& re-sync everything again. After everything sync,i was able to download/install any apps.

Arthur Thornton

@CopenhagenBird -- Open your launcher. You have 3 pages. Put your finger on the right and swipe towards the left. Do it again and you will see the Catalog.

I had the same problem when I first got mine.

Ray

I just bought a new phone not knowing this was an issue with palm!! I am done with this. I will not be buying palm again. Put a message in the catalog you just cost me 300.00! Thanks

Corster

I thought there was something wrong with my new palm pre plus, because some of the apps I downloaded wouldn't fully launch. Thanks for bringing my mind back at ease.

Paul Gornall

What about Docs to Go & DataViz? Can load, however cannot change or modify a doc from the phone - this is not user friendly. Have to change the doc on my pc and e-mail to myself and resave to my phone. Purchased in January, now end of May and nothing is resolved. Why??? Th
