Bell Canafa users would appreciate this update as promised in FEB.

It seems as if though the friends to the North's relationship with Palm is weak.

When will the Pre get a voice memeo function and the ability to: hot sync transfer files, and contact information via Bluetooth.

I would buy two more Pre's, yesterday,if these features where available. Until they become available my compay will have to use Treo's.
Ever think of advertising Pre's not as smartphones but as handheld computing systems.

I am sure many Verizon Palm users are happy that the 1.4 update is finally available. I am wondering if Palm has any plans to allow GE Security (ekey) access to Palm's Bluetooth Technology. I am a Realtor and have been using the Palm Treo for many years. It is not only my phone and database but also is an ekey for entry into the Lockboxes used on Homes for Sale. I am in the need for a new phone and the New Palm Pre does not work with the ekey system. I prefer not to leave the Palm family but I might have to because of this. Do you have any plans to work with GE Security as you have done in the past? I am sure a lot of Realtors are in the same situation.

Huzzah!!

Where is the update to the Bell Mobility palm WebOS devices?!?!?!?!?!?!? AARRRGGGHHH!

Jim M

Verizon charges $10 a month as a minimum data charge for the Palm-Pre. Why? If I only want occasional video or picture messaging, this monthly charge is a deterent to me buying a Palm. We should all write Verizon and complain for requiring a data service on a phone just because of the capabilities of the phone. Their charges should be based on usage not on what type of phone I have.

updated to 1.4 and lost all my apps, 1 for passwords, tried to reinstall somw and they failed. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM??????????????????

Teodor

how about Bell... PALM GIVE US A DAMN ANSWER!!!
If they delay the release, TAKE SOME ACTION! Support your damn customers, don't just take their money and pretend you don't see!

Jeffrey

Well if you had Sprint Service Plan you would have UNLIMITED data which includes Sprint Navigation UNLIMITED

Angry Aboutmypre

Why do Bell Canada customers NOT have the full app catalog? Why do we get updates later than everyone else? WHY do we not have Webos 1.4 yet! :(

I'm sure RIM treats all its customers the same way.

Michael

Nothing to do with anything above. Was just disappointed to see see media saying Palm not doing well financially. I am a big fan of my Pre and I tell everyone who asks. I have used a bunch of "smartphones" and was never satisfied until the Pre. Point of this post is simply that Palm should get a better ad agent because that is the big weakness. Better marketing would help more than anything else and I don't want Palm to go away so get better marketing!

Where the heck is the UPDATE for BELL? Come on with it!

Marco

Where is the Telcel update. Today is March 2. You say February. What's happend???

Kaitlyn

I think it would be nice if the phone could notify you of available updates. I'm not one to check the internet or check my phone all the time for updates. It seems simple enough when an update is available it tells you just like a text message. Something to consider for the next update.

Patricia

I agree that marketing has not been good for the Pre although I have just recently seen more TV ads for it. I love my Pre (especially after the O/S update), it's my first Palm phone. But the VZW store rep tried to steer me towards the Droid or even the Storm 2 but admitted that he didn't know much about the Palm. The reps should be equally knowledgeable on all VZW phones - don't they get training? They have a lot of influence over undecided customers.

Come on already with 1.4 and paid apps for bell customers in Canada. Switch to apple, at least you get the updates!

BT

I love the new option with the new 1.4 webOs upgrade. The only complaint i have is that my BMW in-car bluetooth no longer works.

Hiram

cmon palm.. March 3rd and no update for Telcel phones. What about paid apps for us???

Dave W

My BMW bluetooth no longer works with 1.4--WHEN is this going to be fixed??

danny

Update was flawless on Sprint, and my pixi is definitely more snappy now. The minor app updates are all appreciated - esp the phone app updates. I'd like to see more grouping of calls (not just hourly or so) - maybe make that configurable - but overall, I'm quite happy. I'm *really* happy that there's finally a video app; I was actually planning on getting a flip recorder this evening to make up for the phone's lack of video capture, now that's not needed...

I have had a handful of problems since I updated my pre. It's causing way too many glitches. My phone will shut off or freeze just as it vibrates so it vibrates nonstop for sometimes up to 10sec at a time. Just recently I woke up to find that my phone appeared to be off but the front button kept lighting up. However, I could not turn on the phone no matter what I did. I had to take the battery out. :/ maybe it's just my phone?

With 1.4.0 push, YouTube no longer works

I have been a Palm user since US Robotics days, and a huge fan. I was hanging out for the release of the Pre, resisting the temptation to go to an iPhone. When the GSM Pre was released I immediately got 2 (one for myself and one for my wife). I was initialy disappointed with the lack of functionality/apps compared with my Treo 680, but, thanks to Palm's decision to go with open systems, there were lots of apps/patches available to make the Pre a serious PDA. THEN ALONG CAME WEBOS 1.4!!!!! My phone is now unuseable (I have switched to my wife's un-updated phone); no 3G connectivity at all, phone loses conectivity 2-3 times a day and will not re-establish connectivity (have to put the SIM into another (non-Pre) phone to re-establish connectivity), calls not coming through to the phone ....... I have read through hundreds of blogs about the issues people are experiencing with this update, and can hear the outcry of frustration from people who WANT the Pre to succeed, myself included. This release has been so devastating, especially with no follow-up release to fix the issues, that I am no longer confident that Palm is able to be trusted as a serious PDA provider. PDA are not toys, and people are relying on them for core productivity, and you need to respect that if you expect to survive. I think 1.4, and your lack of response to it is close to a mortal blow for the Pre, and hence, I guess, Palm. Do not look to the corporate spin doctors as a fix for this - fix it, or perish.
