Palm Pre Plus has already been hailed as "a perfect device for the consumer who is looking for a smartphone to balance work and play," and you can get yours on Verizon Wireless on Monday for only $149.99 (after mail-in rebate and two-year contract). Not to be outdone, Palm Pixi Plus at $99.99 "gives customers making the jump from a feature phone to a smartphone even more functionality without breaking the bank."
And how’s this for an extra plus: Through February 14, buy a Palm Pre Plus or a Palm Pixi Plus and get a Palm Pixi Plus free (after mail-in rebate). Can Monday come soon enough?

Great for you US guys, but the rest of the world is still waiting :( Any news when the Palm Pre is finally available in the Netherlands??? Or at least: offer an international web shop so we can legally get one instead of having to seriously consider black market imports...

The new Palm Pre Plus is exactly the mobile phone that I have been looking for. It has a touch-screen for simple or multimedia operation and a slide out keyboard to type emails and texts with ease.
It's like an amalgamation of a Blackberry and iPhone. That's not a bad thing!
With a great expanding app store with some great commercial games on the way, extra internal memory this time to speed things up a tad more, its looking like a true Blackberry beater to me.
When is the Palm Pre PLUS coming to the UK?

How is it.. why is it .. that Verizon has no info on their website regarding these phones.. pricing for existing customers doin upgrades.. etc.. so hard to plan

I've been waiting for a long time for the new Palm to be available on Verizon and now I don't think I want it. I can find nothing that indicates voice activated dialing through a blue tooth is available and if I can't get that I'll find a different phone. I want hands free dialing through wireless headset without paying extra.

Love the idea of getting a free Pixi with purchase, but now that it has wifi, why do I still need a data plan with Verizon? I just want Voice and SMS, and rely on Wifi when I have it. Make it happen and I'm sold!

If I knew this was coming out for Verizon I would have waited and switched over from Sprint. :(
I still may bite the bullet and switch over once I see the pricing for the Mobile Wi Fi feature since sprint is forcign it's customers to add a second line of service with one of their mobile internet devices.

Buy where? Directly from Palm?

Verizon pricing details?
Detailed specs?
Voice commands?
Handsfree dialing (required in DC and Virginia)?
Upgrades / deals for existing Verizon Palm Treo 700p users?
Palm address book & memos transfer instructions?
Details, please. I've been waiting for Verizon/Pre for a year!

If Palm were truly customer centric they would do the following concerning the Palm Pre Plus:
1) Allow the device to be sold at Sprint within 30 days of its Verizon debut; after all Sprint customers had the Pre first. In other words, reward Sprint and Sprint customers for their *beta* support, dollars, and loyalty.
2) Allow Sprint customers to update to a Palm Pre Plus for a minimal charge.
Do the above two things and watch the PR buzz generate.

Hey, this is up on the Verizon site, but it only shows buy a Pixi+ get a Pixi+ free - not buy a Pre+ get a Pixi+ free... What's up with that?
Posted by: Ed | January 24, 2010 at 08:59 PM
Ed... the "buy one, get one free" offer is applicable for both Palm Pre Plus and Palm Pixi Plus -- buy a Palm Pre Plus or a Palm Pixi Plus and get a Palm Pixi Plus free after mail-in rebate. The Verizon Wireless website has been updated.

Ok Palm PR people, now YOU tell my wife that SHE'S the one getting the free Pixi Plus while I get the Pre Plus!!
Seriously, we would need two Pre Pluses, one for me and one for my wife...not one Pre Plus and one Pixi Plus. So is there no deal for us? Can we apply the $100 value of the free Pixi Plus to offset the cost of a second Pre Plus instead? And if so, how?

Does suck that the US gets it first. I think it should be world wide, or at least in Canada too (I am Canadian). I just got a Palm Pre about 3 weeks ago and wouldn`t mind upgrading to the Palm Pre Plus but having to wait MONTHS after it has been released REALLY SUCKS!!!! The Palm Pre is exclusive to Bell here and I talked to a rep and they have no idea about the Palm Pre Plus...WTF!!!! Anyways, by the time it finally gets to Canada I will probably have forgotten about it. Maybe I`ll check out the IPhone next since it gets released here quicker:)

My beloved Palm TX screen looks like it is now dying as it now no longer responds to touch commands...I guess I will have to have funeral for it. This was my second TX. The end of era as there is no way to replace it and no way to fix it TX except possibly finding a third party vendor to try to fix the screen as Palm does not support the Tx devices.
I fail to see how this article can state that the pricing on the palm pixi and pre are good. You have to pay at least $39.00 plus a data plan, plus a protection plan each and every month - three months of that exceeds the price of a pda and you can't talk on pre and use it to write notes at the same time. To have to pay a monthly cell phone plan to get a handheld PDA like device is depressing and upsetting. I don't want another cell phone, especially a smartphone with a data plan I can't afford. VerizonWireless waited to release these until after it changed the pricing on data plans. Unlike the centro, a data plan is mandatory. Wifi is not much use if you have to pay $29.99 for even a basic data plan. And only those who get unlimited calling plans will benefit from their so called new reduced rates. For every other VerizonWireless customer, their monthly expenses have singificantly increased. And no matter how much hype about these new phones, they still aren't the Palm TX and never ever will be good enough to even compare with a TX. I will mourn the loss of my beloved TX.
I guess I will have to find some other solution for wifi, ereader, and contacts, and other great apps I have on my wonderful TX that Palm fails to realize was the best product it ever had. Everything else pales in comparison.

I am feeling a bit betrayed having saved and spent my money on a phone that, despite it's numerous issues, I decided to stick with none the less, only to be dumped on and insulted by the release of a newer, better, more capable version of my phone on another carrier... If this trend continues I may have to reconsider my devotion to PALM...

Just came back from a Verizon Store on Long Island, NY and there is NO Palm Pre Plus or Pixie available in stores. Employee states I have to buy online or pay $25 to reserve one. What's up with that?
Posted by: Lorraine | January 28, 2010 at 03:21 PM
Everyone should stop their bickering... us Aussies can't buy it from anywhere (legally or otherwise)! How/when can the REST if the world buy the Palm Pre Plus?
There is a big wide world outside of the US borders, with plenty of cash to spend.
Sigh.
