Palm Pre customers on Telefonica networks in the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Spain can expect an automatic update to webOS 1.3.1 soon. No action is required; your over-the-air update will take place when you have WiFi or 3G coverage within the next few days. Highlights of the update include:
- support for LinkedIn contacts and Yahoo! calendar and contact information in Palm
- improvements in e-mail and messaging, such as the ability to forward messages in the Messaging app
- a new Facebook for Palm app
- more options for using your Palm Pre in corporate EAS environments.

Its nice to be brought in line software wise with our US counterparts but where are the paid apps or the amazon mp3 store? Its understandable that the app catalog is still in beta but a lot of people are needing the apps which are not available for free.
Whilst this is a nice update i`m pretty sure I speak for a lot of European users when I say its also a huge disappointment

I'm in Belgium and bought my Pre in Germany (unlocked, legally). Since the update, App Catalog hasn't been working any more... It says "Catalog is unavailable please try again later."

I'm using my Palm Pre (from Germany) in Sweden and after the upgrade the App catalog displays the error message 'Not avilable' when I start it. Please fix that.

Also after the update the email notifications are acting strange.. sometime they show up and sometimes not although the emails are always received in the inbox!

Why was the Yahoo IM stripped out of the European update...? big disappointment :-(

Thanks for the update. 1.3.1 fixed my data problems with Swisscom.
No thanks for destroying the App Catalog for me. I'm in Switzerland, and now have zero apps available. This is more than a little annoying.
It would be hard to think of a better way to upset your early adopter Palm friends , who have turned down an iPhone for the promise of the Palm Pre smartphone, and now are rewarded with the removal of all of the apps. Start communicating with is about what is going on with the App Catalog. We can forgive mistakes if they're fixed. Keep quiet and we will just get more vocal.

I'm very pleased that 1.3.1 has come to Europe, but would you care to comment on the lack of (a) Amazon MP3 store and (b) paid apps?

Palm, please return the App Catlog to work on Unlocked Pres used on other networks. We bought these devices for a full price and we are being let down now. I won't be able to recommend the device to others unless the App Catalog is working again on unlocked Pres used on other networks in Europe and worldwide.

Please communicate with your early adopters, can we expect the App Catalog to work all across Europe or is it blocked for everyone else but England, Ireland, Spain and Germany?

Im suggesting that the browser either revert back to old function regarding how to click links ie single tap instead of having to mark the link first and then click a second time or get preferences so the user can select what behaviour to use.
Many of us dont have any problems with hitting links by mistake when zooming so we would appreciate it the Pre sticked to the standard regarding links so that it just takes one click.
Keep the good work, I love the product although some changes make me a bit annoyed. ;)

It's a lovely update in general, but just what is going on with EAS? It seems to be no longer like authentication at all since the upgrade - quite an irritating bug as I love my exchange support on the Pre! Here's hoping for a new release soon that fixes the problems!
