Ready to kick off the holiday season? Here’s a quick recipe for a fun and stress-free holiday season:
Ingredients:
- A seemingly endless to-do list of holiday chores you’d like to streamline
- A budget you need to live within
- The Palm Beta App Catalog on your Palm Pre or Palm Pixi
Step 1: Cue up the holiday ambiance with your favorite “AccuHolidays” channel on the AccuRadio app. (The “Chestnuts Roasting” channel, for example, plays nothing but various renditions of “The Christmas Song.” Not your taste? Try the all “Let It Snow! Snow! Snow!” channel....Seriously, though, the “Holiday Jazz” channel rocks -- as does the “Holiday Rock” channel.)
Step 2: If you’re making a list, no need to be checking it twice if you use
GiftJammer to manage everything from sizes and colors to prices and website
links. GiftJammer will even remind you when those special dates are coming
up.
Step 3: My Mall Shopping offers the convenience of those airline catalog anthologies (but without the hassles of having to go through security and pay extra to check your luggage).
Step 4: Dealert monitors your favorite deal-tracking sites, and makes it
easy to share the latest bargain news with everyone in your network.
Step 5: If holiday hubbub leaves you at a loss for words, Free Greeting Card Messages can help you add a little eloquence to your gift-giving.
Step 6: You’ve figured out the perfect gifts, found where you can get them,
nabbed them at a great price -- now you just need to make sure they get to
their destinations on time. That’s where Pack 'n' Track comes in, helping
you keep tabs on FedEx, UPS, USPS, and DHL.
And now, a word from our sponsor: Starting Thanksgiving Day, you’ll get $30
off all orders of $99 or more at store.palm.com, along with free shipping!
(And BTW, here’s
All of the above is Lovely if you allow your thousands of new UK customers to download all the 400+ apps and pay apps. Love my pre hate that I can't download anything useful or buy the apps (like GiftJammer) that work for me

Another great blog post. Except that it's worthless for European customers since we're still locked out of the App Catalog an can't use any of the apps mentioned in the post. What about the next software update bringing new features instead of limitation? I'd like to see that for once, since I've paid quite some money for my Pre.

I would like to talk to someone from Palm. Need to let them know how disappointed I am with the Palm Pre. I purchased this phone in June, when it was first introduced. I've had nothing but problems with it, and finally had it replaced two weeks ago, to the tune of $100.00 for the replacement. That is just wrong! I would expect that any phone that I purchase for $300+ dollars would last longer than 6 months. I also downloaded "Password Keeper" when it was free, used it constantly until it froze up on me. Now this same app cost a few bucks to download, I refuse to pay for it. Won't someone from Palm step up to the plate and communicate with me about all these problems??!!

Cindy, sorry to hear about the issues you've exeprienced. You should be hearing from Palm support -- anyone requiring support should visit http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/na/pre/p100eww/sprint/supportservices/page_en.html to find the options available to you.

Palm has great tech with WEBos, but no marketing brain. Should release a samilar device as ipod touch, ipad, so that app store can take off.
