Palm Pixi arrives on Sprint November 15

It’s Palm’s thinnest phone ever. It lets you intuitively move back and forth between open applications using the multi-touch screen and natural gestures. And it’s coming to Sprint on November 15, for $99.99 (after rebates and with a two-year service agreement).

More answers to FTQs (frequently tweeted questions)

With so many new Palm Pre owners, webOS developers, and folks eying Palm Pixi, it seemed like a good time for a new roundup of “Answers to FTQs (frequently tweeted questions).” We love hearing from you on Twitter -- whether it’s a question, a feature suggestion, a gripe, a great photo from your Palm Pre you want to share, or the latest sighting of a Palm Pre on your favorite TV show

Spain goes ga-ga over Palm Pre

In the country that gave us Salvador Dali and Luis Bunuel, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that a celebration of the arrival of Palm Pre had a few slightly surreal touches. Palm and Telefonica executives introduced Palm Pre to an elegant crowd at Telefonica’s flagship store in Madrid (flanked by performers who would have fit in as extras in a Lady Gaga video). London calling

If the party hadn't actually been on the roof top, they would have been certain to blow the roof off of London's fashionable Shoreditch House in London's East End last night. Euro-celebs Matthew Horne, Mr Hudson, Rachel Stephens, Alphabeat, Mel B (aka Scary Spice), VV Brown, Jade Jagger and a few hundred others were doing some serious celebrating in anticipation of Palm Pre on the O2 network this Friday. Palm Pre says "Hola" to Spain on 14 October

Telefonica today announced the availability of Palm Pre on its HSDPA mobile network in Spain on 14 October. New Telefonica customers can receive the phone at no cost, depending on their service plan commitment. Telefonica is also the exclusive initial carrier for Palm Pre in United Kingdom, Ireland, and Germany. The phone can be purchased at Telefonica outlets in Spain and online at www.telefonica.es. A peek at two powerful new pieces of the Palm webOS platform

Palm webOS developers -- and Palm Pre owners looking for mobile apps that go even further -- got a peek today at two important new pieces of the future of the platform. 

This evening, Palm announced that the webOS developer program will officially open in December. The program is designed to provide developer’s with flexibility to distribute and promote apps in a way that works for them. The program will support distribution of both free and paid apps through the Palm App Catalog. Through a self-certification option, the program will also offer web-based distribution of apps for developers who wish to leverage existing web channels to reach their customers directly. And for developers of open source apps using this option, the $99 program fee is waived as Palm’s way of thanking the open source community.

Earlier today, webOS took to the stage at Adobe MAX 2009, where attendees were treated to a demo of Flash Player 10.1 running as a plug-in for the webOS browser. This forthcoming version of the Flash plug-in is designed to support webOS functionality, including multi-touch gestures and the phone’s accelerometer.

Palm webOS 1.2.1 now available

If you use certain configurations of Exchange 2007, you may have experienced some problems syncing your EAS email with your Palm Pre after updating to webOS 1.2. That issue has been fixed with the release of webOS 1.2.1 for Sprint customers -- you'll automatically receive an over-the-air update in the next few days. For additional information about webOS 1.2.1, you can find the release notes here. This release also re-enables the ability of Palm media sync to work with the current version of iTunes.
