If you use certain configurations of Exchange 2007, you may have experienced some problems syncing your EAS email with your Palm Pre after updating to webOS 1.2. That issue has been fixed with the release of webOS 1.2.1 for Sprint customers -- you'll automatically receive an over-the-air update in the next few days. For additional information about webOS 1.2.1, you can find the release notes here. This release also re-enables the ability of Palm media sync to work with the current version of iTunes.
How about an update that shows call duration?
And it would be nice to be able to make and receive calls while in USB mode.
Dialing numbers should be recognized in contacts. And lastly, I'd like to do other things while apps are downloading.
Love my phone!!
got my 1.2.1 :)

This is excellent news, thanks for the superfast Exchange fix, and the iTunes fix too!

Good to know that iTunes synchronisation works again. I'm ready to buy my Palm Pre in Germany in 10 days from now!

iTunes synchronisation: Let it go. Please! This battle is getting ridiculous. I Love to buy a Pre on October 13 in Germany, but please develop your own Sync-Software (Mac OS compatible of cause).

I really like the return of iTunes synchronization, but would prefer a palm application for both mac and windows to do the same thing.
Please look into creating a better program, it seriously the interface of the Palm Pre surpasses iPhone, it would be nice to have something compete with iTunes in my opinion.

I'm glad to see you aren't giving up on Media Sync -- I don't actually care *that* much about the feature, but Apple is being childish and this is really about treating customers well. Sure, Palm could write their own media sync app, but why do I was a customer want to use a separate app? Apple should just stop trying to hurt their joint customers.
I'd noticed the slow-to-start web video playback in 1.2 so I'm glad to see that addressed in 1.2.1.
#1 bug predating 1.2 that's still outstanding and I'd like to see fixed: problems authenticating to Yahoo mail (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, I know the credentials I gave it are right).
#1 bug new in 1.2 that I'd like to see addressed in the future: the passcode lock that's required for some EAS accounts is too aggressive, there's no delay, so every single time I lock the phone or it autolocks after 30 seconds, I have to unlock it. It would be nice to have a grace period (say 1 hour) before it locks (other devices have this).

Got 1.2.1. Thanks for the fast Exchange fix! I could not have lived without it. What about being able to change the text message ringtone? I am constantly missing important texts because the alert is not loud enough.
Posted by: Matt | October 03, 2009 at 03:11 PM
I'd love to be able to forward my txt messages and video would be sweet too. =)

Would love to see the ability to have different ring options for incoming text messages. The 2 note standard ring the Pre currently has is too quiet and too quick. Pre is the only phone I've ever owned or know of that doesn't allow at least a small number of choices for text message alerts.
Also, no video camera? The Pre has plenty of memory...maybe an app coming out someday for that?

How about if Palm writes their own syncing software? Stop stealing Apple's intellectual property - and faking their user id's (a direct violation of USB rules) - and write your own software that works best for us, Pre users. You have the opportunity to write software that specifically works exactly the way you want to, controlling it and limiting whatever you'd like. AND the Apple logo won't be splashed all over the place. Best of all, the childish games can stop, along with USB rule-breaking.

alarm seems to be messed up since 1.2 had my fingures crossed that this would fix it, but once again I woke up late :(

The lag that went away in 1.2 is back in 1.2.1.

how/when can I forward a text?
Posted by: jim thompson | October 05, 2009 at 12:46 PM
You guys bunch of hackers!. Why don't you develop your own sync software for Mac instead of getting this feature disabled every other release of iTunes update?
You guys are just lame!

Its great that these updates keep rollin out but yall need to fix the app limit very soon!

with FORD SYNC the truck/phone disconnect automatically when not used for a very short period of time. You than have to turn off bluetooth on the phone and turn it back on to get it to sync up again for use. is there a fix or procedure to stop this?

Looking forward to getting Pre Oct 16 in UK. What's this about not being able to change text alert sound? That's not cool. Oh, and way to go, kicking Apple's arse. It's not cool to unhook your customers, and that's what they're doing. Just cuz I want an iPod for some things doesn't mean I want it for everything. That's why I blanked iTunes for 4 years. Finally gave in last year.

Hello!
The next Palm Pre should have a second camera. A camera that can be used to have video chat.
Palm Pre is an amazing phone!

If I launch Google Maps, close it, then try to launch Sprint Navigation, Sprint Navigation is unable to find the GPS signal. It seems like Google Maps is not "letting go of" the gps function when I close it, thereby blocking access to it by the Sprint Navigation application. The only "fix" I know of is to re-boot the phone (not much fun). Is there currently a better solution and, if not, will there be? Please respond by email. Love my Pre- just want it to be better.

I'm happy that they fixed Exchange, but now could they update the following:
1. Add spell check.
2. Copy and Paste from texts & emails.
3. Copy pics from the web.
4. Custom alerts - I agree with computer dude above the text message alert is too low!
5. Privacy Options: I like that my text alerts, etc. pop up on the screen but sometimes i'd prefer that not anyone could read what the actual text says.
6. Bluetooth transfer options. Why can't we send files?????
7. Conference Call drop options. Why do I have to hang up on everyone to make sure the 2nd line is clear???
8. Video Cam????? Would it have been that hard to add one?
9. Can I please forward a text?
I love the Pre but could we get some of these things fixed ASAP! ;)

Mostly, I like this update, but I really don't like how it stopped the notification of an incoming call over the headphones while listening to music, if the ringer switch is turned off. If I'm listening to music over the phone, I'm not going to hear my phone vibrating on my desk at work, and it's weak enough that I never feel it...I've missed several calls because of this and ultimately had to stop listening to music on my phone.
