It was a big day in the Gotham limelight on Sunday for the just-announced Palm Pixi. In Bryant Park, Pixi continued to turn heads inside the tent at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week (receiving compliments from fashion-setters ranging from Russell Simmons to the reigning Miss Universe). And down at Parsons The New School for Design, Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein showed off Palm Pixi as Josh Topolsky’s first guest on The Engadget Show (available for viewing soon on Engadget).
Jon shared some candid thoughts about Palm’s phones and the future of mobile technology (no spoilers here – you’ll just have to watch!), traded zingers with Josh, and thanked the packed auditorium for sticking with Palm. As an extra thank you to the audience, Jon surprised everyone at the taping with a free Palm Touchstone Charging Dock.
You’ll find a few more photos from the taping (all taken on a Palm Pre, btw) in an album on Palm’s Facebook page (where you can also join in on round two of the Runway Wars battle of the fashionistas).

Great stuff palm keep up the good pr. You guys are going straight to the action instead of putting out boring press releases and holding your own events.

I really like the Palm
But first I will not buy one since in Canada there is no real competition for cell service subscribers.
Second the band width in Canada is so tightly controlled that if one does get wireless broadband it is of such low quality that you cannot depend on its performance for serious quality activities.
Third where can you buy a cell phone let alone a pre or iphone with a data pac only and or wi-fi capable. It would certainly level the playing field to be able to have data only services without Ma B and others sqeezing your band width.
Oh well. Why am I saying anything? I retired my cell because its a waste of time and money.

I LIKE THE way the pre functions I wounder how I got a long without it. Unlike the treo I'm disappointed in the reminder alarm you can't set the number of times it rings heaven forbid you leave in the room next to you' and most important when it goes off if you don't respond to it it won't ring again whereas the treo would ring every 5 min. There needs to be an app for the volume. It needs to be little louder. the clock alarm is perfect it keeps playing until you respond.
