One of the most powerful aspects of webOS is Palm Synergy, which brings together your online accounts in one simple, logical view, and keeps them synced up automatically. Google Voice applies a
similar philosophy to your phone number and phone services, offering you a range of options for everything from forwarding calls among your phone phones to transcribing voicemail messages into text. With gDial Pro, a webOS app from Mobile Entertainment Group, your Palm Pre can now use and manage your Google Voice account.
Other goodies making their debut today in the Palm Pre App Catalog include:
- AccuRadio (from AccuRadio), offering streaming radio for the U.S. and Canada
- Local Concerts (iLike), giving you personaliz

ed concert updates from your favorite artists
- Simple Bible (Jev Vandegrift), providing the full text of the Bible with a range of ebook features
- Currency Converter (Janni Kovacs), simplifying those inevitable “duh” moments when making international transactions
- 420 Wallpaper (A Minor Label), with a selection of artwork to give your Palm Pre a new look
- Forbes (Forbes), for essential business news
- A trio of new games: Video Poker (bytesequencing.com), Checkers (Keen Studios), and Lights Out (Vasudeva Damarasingu).

Waiting eagerly for the UK launch at end October(?) and hoping there'll actually be some UK-focused apps, since most of the exciting stuff so far has been US-only...

aneesah: because it's exactely like you said, it's a phone... not a video camera!

It'd be nice if you could set it to run over wifi instead of the cell network, my sprint service isn't very good.

Very nice, along with a quick roll out. Kudos palm for doing what Apple could not do.

When will there be another update for the Pre? The Pre needs more options such as, different colors for the dialer, more pages for the launcher, etc...

We need a google voice application that can actually play a message from the phone without calling in. Blackberry and Iphone can both do this even without apps through the google voice mobile site. is anybody close to getting this working?

iLike app doesn't work - even though my location is set to NH, it only lists shows in Los Angeles area.

Slowly, come the apps. Where is a reader for secure docs? How do I synch my memos without using Outlook? Fixing cut and paste shouldn't wait for a 3rd party vendor. Why isn't Dataviz product up and running?

How about addressing the many lists of basic functions that are being listed from Pre owners in the community? I was really upset to see the launch of the Pixi instead of the improvements the Pre needs. I want to rotate my photos, forward my texts, and view basic details about the calls in my call log. I want to view the info about a missed call without calling the person back automatically. I want video capability, and I want a cooperative call ignore button. I want to stop wondering if Palm is as committed to the Pre as I have been to Palm products.

Complainers need to realize that Palm is doing all they can to start a successful company. While they may not have got to "forwarding text messages" or INSERT SMALL FEATURE HERE, they are doing all they can to get the company up and running. Once thats done they can invest more resources so they can fix INSERT SMALL FEATURE HERE but until then they are really prioritizing in the way that makes most sense. I trust Palm over Ashley's business sense any day.

Forwarding texts is a pretty basic and important function. Not a small bit to be ignored. I love my phone, although it's already had to be replaced, but that's something that should not have gotten overlooked

How about an app that will make the Pre a modem for a laptop computer so I can get rid of my sprint card and save $69 a month!!

I agree with ashley;

Wait for them to get the company up and running?!?! palm has been around for a pretty good amount of time and if they wanna put out a market leading device then they should ensure that it has features that most other devices and even their older devices have.

Palm was up and running more than 10 years ago, Gene, remember the Palm Pilot? I get that you're as big a Palm fan as I am, but take a deep breath. None of the things I listed are small features, they are smartphone staples and they have been promised already to Pre users. Current Pre users, while I have you Gene, are helping support Palm as it makes the case to the market that it can make a grand transformation in the industry and compete with some hardhitting products like the iPhone and the Google phone. We bought our Pres in support of that effort and we're all out on a limb together. You might be right about my business sense, but if you are, it's Palm's problem too, so I hope not.

I am not able to install more than 33 apps at a time. It is really frustrating. I always get 'not enough memory' error and have to keep on deleting the existing apps. How can the memory get filled up with only 33 apps? Can someone at Palm take care of this?
