Judging by some of your Twitter and blog postings, Canadians have been eagerly anticipating details about Palm Pre's arrival in Canada. We are happy to confirm that Pre is scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2009. The phone will debut exclusively on Bell Mobility’s 3G high-speed mobile network.
You can sign up to be notified via email when Pre is available at www.palm.com/ca. You can also get all the latest Palm news by following palm_inc or by becoming a fan at www.facebook.com/palm.

Really looking forward to an announcement that the Pre is also coming to Telus. I don;t mind waiting a bit, but I've been putting off buying a smartphone while I waited to see where the Pre would end up. Bell is a huge disappointment, I won't ever spend another dollar with them after the disrespectful way I was treated when I was a customer.

The wait is long and.. well, maybe not worth it anymore.
I was extatic when the first Pre reviews start flowing after the US release and seriously speaking, I had the money in my pocket I would have gladly donated to Palm for exhange to an unlocked GSM 3G Pre.
But end of 2009 keeps coming closer and closer and Palm keeps ignoring Europe and unlocked versions.
Not sure anymore if the wait is worth it as I'm in dire need of a good phone. Pixi is released in the US and we are still waiting for the first Pre.

Some sort of comment on an intension to release in Australia at least may have had me wait a little longer before buying a competitor phone!

The best reply is, have you been a Bell client? I wish manufacturers would take the time to look into a carrier before jumping off a cliff with them. I agree too, what a waste! This awesome product will be lost here in Canada.
I do not know many companies that still deploy Bell as their primary carrier and the ones that do I would question why they still do? Are they their because they want to be or because they are lock in because of a single line in their old contract?
Also, Palm if you are listening :) Rogers controls the market (assumption) in Canada for BlackBerry. How many of their customers do you think will switch to Bell for the Pre? or can switch to Bell? Just like Bell, Rogers also has their clients held hostage too.
Perfect example; I have had my Bold for 2 years, I want to move on. I would have loved the pre, but I am stuck with rogers until next year unless I want to spend 500$ to cancel my contract.
I think it is time to take page out of Google play book!
Food for thought! Cheers
