First off, a big thank you to all of you for your support!
A few questions I wanted to give clarity on:
-Regarding Palm OS apps, MotionApps (www.motionapps.com) is creating an emulator application called "Classic" that will allow most applications to run on webOS devices.
-Yes, you can browse the internet in Landscape mode on Pre.
-EMEA folks, we've said it before but I'll say it again, rest assured we have not forgotten about you! A world-ready UMTS version of the product will be made available in other regions worldwide--stay tuned!

Excellent! I can't wait to get my hands on one. I currently have a Palm Treo that has been awesome, but I love the Pre's new sleek interface. Great job Palm!

I think this phone is going to give the iPhone a run for the money. I do however think you all should have stuck with a 3.5 inch screen instead. Or hell even a 3.8inch like the TouchHD which I've owned and it didn't feel too big. Just right.
I'm a current iPhone owner and happy to move away from Apple and their dictatorship. I'm tired of their authoritarian attitude towards everything. Their answer to multitasking? It eats too much battery life. Well WinMo has been doing it [multitasking] forever. Let the consumer make that decision not Apple. In this day and age who doesn't have a car charger anyway? Remember when Apple said no 3rd party apps, then came back and said, ok ok, web based 3rd party apps only, finally they came back and said ok SDK. Only because they saw an opportunity to make additional revenue. The iPhone doesn't allow the purchase of insurance with AT&T like AT&T does on every other phone they sell. So if you break your iPhone accidently. Full price baby. The SlingPlayer for iPhone, WiFi only. How ridiculous and discriminative is that? Other phones on AT&T 3G network have Slingplayer and such restrictions aren't made (i.e. Windows Mobile Phones). I've been tired of it. But it's been hard to beat the iPhone in terms of usability, apps, and hey, if you Jailbreak it...you almost have a real phone.
I think the make or break for this phone will not be the rebate, but the applications. It's imperative that you guys make an appeal to the developers. Woo them in anyway you can to develop apps for the WebOS just as they did with the iPhone and you'll really have a killer.
I'm ready to leave Apple iPhone for the Palm Pre but I'll be sure to hold my iPhone and test the Pre for 30 days before cancelling my AT&T and paying the termination fee. I've been following the Pre and WebOS and blogging about it, I hope it's all it's cracked up to be. The Xperia X1 was a HUGE let down and they hyped up the Xperia just as much as the Pre. The HTC TouchHD was nice with TouchFlo but still lagged behind in terms of keeping up with the iPhone. The fact is, you can slap any front on WindowMobile you want, it's still clunky old, stale Windows Mobile. The other iPhone copies aren't even worth menioning.
Apple like every other company needs competition and I think the Pre is going to give it to them.
My major concern is this shortage talk. I can guarantee you that if there's a shortage of the Pre people are just going to continue on with their next generation iPhone purchases. Not to mention I will be highly pissed and disappointed as we've followed and blogged abut the Pre since day one. What a let down it would be to not get a Pre to try for 30 days and maybe buy on launch day.
I can't wait to get my hands on and review the Palm Pre. I have high hopes that it will allow me to replace my iPhone with something even better. Sorry for the rant.

My friend is a beta user of the Pre and from what I have seen it lives up to all its hype. He even tells me that Palm is working on adding more features such as Video, 32 Gigs of memory. When I mentioned the iPhone's App Store, he laughed telling me that the developement community is completely in love with the WebOS and they are gaga over how easy it is to write application software for the Pre.

If the Pre functions anywhere close to the way it did when it was demonstrated this phone will Blow the living daylight out of the iPhone. 8 Gigs on the Pre will be more than you could ever want but the next version will have 16 and 32 Gig options.

Select Radio Shack and Bestbuy will have instant rebate. No need to mail and wait 6 months :) to get your money back.
