Sprint has announced today that the Palm Pre will be available on June 6. Sprint announced that it will be available nationwide in Sprint stores, as well as at Best Buy, Radio Shack, and select Wal-Mart stores. The webOS-based phone will retail for $199.99 (after rebate and service agreement).
The Palm Pre will provide access to all of the exclusive content on the Sprint Now Network, including Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV, and NASCAR Sprint Cup Mobile Live. More details about Sprint’s service plans and retail channels can be found on the company’s website.

How about a contract with AT&T?

Regrets. I love Palm products, but 6 weeks ago I had no news about when the Pre would be on sale, so I bought an Ipod-Touch, because I really needed a new PDA.
I wish you all had given a heads up, since it seemed like it wouldn't be released until the end of 2009.
Congrats, though, I hope you sell millions of them!!!

Congratulations and good luck. We'll be waiting for the GSM version for the Asia, particularly the Philippines. :-)

I really want to see the Palm Pre with a different carrier. We don't have good Sprint coverage up here in Bend, Oregon. I hope it doesn't take longer than 6 months for Palm to open it up to Verizon or AT&T.

Finally! But when is there a GSM/HSDPA version coming out? Is the UK version support AT&T frequencies? If so, when does it come out so I can get it imported! ;)

What's up with the lame rebate? Why not just make it $199 to begin with?
Posted by: Bob Danforth | May 19, 2009 at 09:44 AM
It needs Microsoft Express to push e-mail which isn't a true push and you need an ME account which I really don't want to get involved with. Why not make it compatible to Blackberry's network. Then I'd jump.

Hmmm, that whole business in the fine print about "Existing customers in good standing ... may be eligible," already makes me wary. When it comes to buying new phones, Sprint treats new customers like kings and queens. Long-time, existing customers get the short end of the stick. In fact, we get the poke in the eye with the stick. We'll see how this goes.

It will be nice to having a real keyboard again, if you know what I mean. Plus, my contract is finally up. :-)

Woo Woo - Great Job Palm!
I have been using Palm since 1997 and love their devices. Plus have been waiting for the Pre since last year, but as I just learned Sprint requires a Simply Everything Plan (http://www.phonenews.com/review-palm-pre-sprint-7886/) in order to use the phone. I really hope they change their mind because I don't plan on droping my unlimited data plan and hop onto paying an extra $30-40/month for Simply Everything Plan. I will wait until June 6, if that still the case. I will finally get an IPhone.
I really think this device is the re-making of both Palm and Sprint, but Sprint cannot see that. By forcing subscribers to get Simply Everything Plan is a recipe for disaster. No wonder Sprint keeps on losing subscribers as other carriers keeps on gaining.
As a long time subscriber to Sprint (since 1996) this is their chance from me.

Please say it will be available through Verizon soon. I can't switch to Sprint because my sevice plan is through work. I REALLY need this phone!!!

My 750 is on its last leg & I was still holding out for a miracle - that Sprint would not have an exclusive and the Pre would be available for AT&T subscribers. Sprint does not have coverage in my area :-( Congratulations to all of you proud new Pre owners-to-be!
