The Treo Pro, which made its debut on the Sprint and Alltel networks earlier this month, has been hailed for its "sleek design," "solid business features" and for being, well, "definitely HOT." (How hot? Eagle-eyed TV viewers also spotted the Treo Pro in a recent episode of the venerable, Emmy-award winning ER.)
With Wi-Fi, GPS, a full keyboard and touch screen, all for under $200 (after the requisite rebates and agreements), the Treo Pro is the ideal phone for any busy professional. Here are a few highlights from what the reviewers have had to say about the Treo Pro:
Mike Heck, InfoWorld
- "If you're shopping for a Windows Mobile-based handset, the Palm Treo Pro is one of the best."
Bonnie Cha, CNET
- "The Palm Treo Pro features a sleek design that combines a full QWERTY keyboard and touch screen. The smartphone ships with Internet Explorer 6 and offers full connectivity options, including EV-DO Rev. A support and GPS."
Ginny Mies, PC World
- "Finally available at a carrier-subsidized price, the Palm Treo Pro smart phone delivers solid business features and a sophisticated design."
Andrew Carton, Treonauts
- "Additionally, it is worthwhile noting just how overwhelmingly positive the overall attitude has been towards the Treo Pro. As you can see from our original poll below, it very clearly and very loudly conveys a unanimous rating: the Treo Pro is definitely HOT."
Ramon Llamas, IDC
- "The Treo Pro reaffirms Palm's commitment to enterprise users looking for a Windows Mobile experience and a sleek form factor, and it should be a welcome change for those who have been waiting to upgrade from their Treo 700w."

Edelman for Palm
Stop using resources on the Treo Pro and Focus REAL HARD on making the Pre a successful launch.

Surprisingly, I like the sleek design, I hope it had better features and will satisfy me. :)

do you plan to do any major advertising for PRE before it is available? The buzz is great so far for those who follow it but the average consumer is yet to hear about Pre. I was at dinner with neighbors who are in the market for smartphones and were leaning to blackberry because of the keyboard. I tried to pitch PRE but they did not know it. I asked them to wait but was unsure when the release date would be. Some commercials would be excellent to get consumers excited. I thimk many will hold off on purchasing if they learn about the PRE.

RC -- stay tuned.

thanks Alex, I am. Everything about the new PALM is beautiful from the PRE's design to the internet site to photographs used. I have to believe the commercials will be just as good--hopefully better than Euro Claus who was not my favorite--it is going to be exciting though I am sure there will be some challenges. Good luck and I will stay tuned for some PRE worthy commercials. Apple has always had a beautifu aesthetic to their products but I think Palm/PRE may surpass them. Apple broke out at the Academy Awards well before iphone was on the market, I hope PALM will see the value in some pre-release buzz, too. How about some commercials with the U2 song Beautiful Day as backrgound? Bono should cut us a good deal to use the song.

Two words: 'Verizon Wireless'
Pulease. Do you seriously believe the Centro will keep you on that carrier? Why are you married to the weakest of the 3 major players in the USA?
I'll have to abandon my Palm-based smartphone before I sign up with Sprint.

Harold -- stay tuned. From time to time, we've been known to step outside our marriage.

I've stayed tuned for the better part of a year. Checking every day for news from Verizon or Palm is getting tired. At a certain point, I'll move on, and I suspect I'm not alone.
