The Palm blog isn't just for news about us -- on our blog (and on other blogs), the comments are a great place to find out what's on the minds of Palm customers and fans (and occasional detractors). The Pre inspired one fan to pen a short sci-fi story. Another offered their concise review of Mobile World Congress ("Palm Pre was a show stopper"), while others have told about how their Centros and Treos have literally been lifesavers. Other fans have praised the Pre for including features (such as MMS, camera with flash, Flash support, etc.) that are missing from other phones. Shout-outs to Evgeny, Travis N., Nanette J., Jim F., tcr071 and Cary C. for joining in on the conversation -- and we hope to see your two cents here as well.

The Pre really has great features but please: Palm must develop the Garnet Emulator, because I have many many palm applications that I depend on every day and I cannot switch to WebOS without such applications.
I also prefer a bigger screen and thinner device without physical keyboard. Please take this into consideration when launching another WebOS device:)

I love my pink palm centro. I don't understand how some people are having problems with theirs. I recently had a salesperson from radioshack try to get me to get an instinct. Well I refused and he instisted that I wouls soon have problems, I'm not having any problems. I just watched a thorough presentation of your new palm pre and I must say I'm impressed. I've always said nothing will replace my centro. Well I may hae to eat my words, but only if the palm pre comes in pink like the first pink centro. I absolutely love the color (the rose color is not a big hit like the first pink). So many women have the same pink centro I think you guys would make a killing especially if its advertised as a breast cancer campaign. Women love pink, I'm one of them. Keep up the good work n I'll be the first to but the palm pre if you do put it in pink. Good Luck!

What’s the word on backwards compatability with Palm OS? It’s very important to me, particularly regarding the Calendar and Contacts applications. I don’t want to lose my lengthy history in the calendar, or have to re-enter hundreds of contacts, none of which I have in Outlook.

I can't wait to get a Pre!
Until then, I have my Centro, that I really enjoy using. Now that I know you read the comments to get feedback from Palm users, I'd like to mention one annoyance: When my Centro is in vibrate mode and I'm talking on the phone, if I get a text message or an alarm goes off, it vibrates against my ear and the person on the other end can hear it. The phone should know to play a tone through the earpiece when it's on vibrate and there is an active call.
Otherwise, it's a wonderful phone and I love using it.

Michael -- thanks for the suggestion and for the kind words.

KBC -- we think that the low barrier for entry in developing for webOS means an emulator may be developed by a third party. More details to come when the product is available.
