"I resolve to say goodbye to sticky-notes."
That's my New Year's Resolution for 2009, and I'm making it early to make the holiday season a little less stressful. Ah, the holidays. A time of celebration and joy, eating plentifully and giving thanks... and, ultimately forgetting. You can't help it -- you've got shopping to do and cocktail parties to attend, relatives to visit and family to keep sane. If sticky-notes have been your friend forever, Palm's Memo will soon become your BFF.
On the Palm OS (on phones like the Centro), it's easy to write yourself a quick little memo. It's like sticking a reminder note on your phone but not worrying that the adhesive strip with wear off -- because it's there, in your phone, always with you.
Say you're jamming to a song and want to go home and download it. No need to repeat it a zillion times or write it down on some random scrap of paper. Just select Memo from your Palm home screen, type it out and save. Or, the classic, where-did-I-park-my-car fiasco. Before jetting into the mall, simply jot a Memo in to remind yourself where you parked and avoid walking garage loops.
So, with the holidays approaching and the long and short term memory on overload, remember the Palm Memo. That way, this season you'll be thankful you're not stuck in a parking garage but rather surrounded by good food and better company.

that works well, but I find it even more convenient to use 'Calendar' for quick reminders. I use 'Calendar' all day long anyways, and this just simply keeps all the reminders in front of me.

diddlebug is probably better for literally 'jotting' something, since you can draw it, rather than type it.

They had to use Memo, as the Centro does not have Note Pad for some reason... Maybe because the designers moved away from the "writing on your Palm" mentality to "typing on your Palm"?
Anycase - season's greetings/non-denominational winter holiday season that neither affirms nor denies any particular belief system, deity or event/merry X-mas to all at Palm, hope to see you back in 2009, bigger and better than ever!!!
