If you’re not yet sick of post-election analysis and punditry, here are a couple of stories worth checking out. Over at WMExperts, George Ponder has a detailed account of how his Treo Pro helped him survive a 20-hour shift on Tuesday supervising the distribution and collecting of voting materials in Jefferson Country, Alabama.
Harry McCracken’s Technologizer blog ran its own mock “TechDecision ‘08” election on November 4, featuring a slate of candidates for “Imaginary Elective Office” along with several “Non-Binding Imaginary Propositions” about various tech industry issues. One of the biggest landslides was a referendum on whether “America’s cell phone companies [should] be required to sell phones that are unlocked to operate on any network.” When the virtual voting was over, a whopping 81% said "yes."
To which we reply: "Yes we can!" (or rather, "Yes we do!"). BTW, the unlocked Treo Pro ran neck and neck for top honors in a recent PC Magazine roundup of unlocked phones, but we're not demanding a recount.
