A new blue for you!
AT&T's Centro lineup adds a dazzling new color – electric blue – to join glacier white and obsidian black. This exclusive new Centro color will be available starting this Friday in AT&T retail stores, or online at www.att.com and www.palm.com/centro.
And be sure to check back here on Friday to find out how we’ll be making these eye-catching Centros more affordable than ever for back-to-schoolers from July 11 to September 20, 2008.

Will this color find it's way to Sprint someday?

Why are colors specific to the carrier?

"Why are colors specific to the carrier?"
Because all marketing guys are morons, but Palm ones are twice.
That's why Treo sales crumbled in the past and they still don't say anything about new models to keep current customers instead of handling them to competitors.
People want unlocked models but they wait following the silly "customer lock in" telco apply since the invention of phone. People hate it, but morons are not like common people. They think they live in a world where they can believe they are clever. They are only morons.

I predict we'll see people lining up outside of AT&T stores this Friday.

Launching Friday when the iPhone 3G comes out huh?
To offer a lame joke, hopefully Palm doesn't feel blue when the iPhone devours more market share.

Colors are specific to the carriers because carriers request those colors are specific to them. Its called differentiation, look it up.
Good job, Palm! Centro is the best PalmOS phone ever and I think its great that more and more people experience this phone every day.

c'mon guys. if they don't have new technology to offer, Palm can only offer new colors.
we'll see how this all plays out. google android, iphone, nokia, etc.

Wow! This is really going to cause problems on Friday. I guess they're going to have to split the lines in two; one line for the iPhone and another for the electric blue Centro.

haha lame.

Why Blue? Not silver or red, I think this two colors will make the phone more elegant

Is that Blazer running on the Centro? Palm still haven't replaced that? Scary.

Really?
A new colour?
Really.
That's it?
Wow. See you guys in Chapter 11. Peace!

Nice to see Palm is continuing to innovate. No one expect this color, that's for sure. Well done.
Though, don't look now, but I think someone is drinking your milkshake.

"Colors are specific to the carriers because carriers request those colors are specific to them. Its called differentiation, look it up."
So the carrier is the customer now? How many people are going to switch out their cell phone plan to get a different color of the same phone? Differentiation assumes that the difference is adequate to shift the consumer - color vs. service contract doesn't cut it.
No wonder Apple is wrecking the competition. That's the kind of differentiation that moves customers.

Palm is still around? People are still buying them?

All of you Apple fan boys that drink whatever El Jobso puts out there, calm down. Go spend your time on other sites and cry, cry, cry. I'm tired of seeing people come complain about things that just don't make sense. It's pretty doubtful that Palm is doing this at the same time as the iPhone as a competitive move. I mean seriously, use your brain if you can. Maybe you don't like paying a few bucks for a new phone so you hate on others that cost much less?

Apple adds GPS, 3G and new software. Palm adds electric blue. I think we all know how this will play out.

Has anyone heard of Verizon picking up a new color for the Palm Centro?...They are lacking in color choices compared to other top cell phone companies i.e. Sprint and At&t.

Sad timing on the Electric Blue release, whether intentional or not.
(Amused that Yelp is in the screenshot!)

Congradulations Apple upgraged minor things from the original peice of .... which will make me run out and buy another Iphone Ive been happier ever since I sold it to some moron and went with the Centro. The Iphone is a highly priced phone for kids its nothing more than a toy and the sad thing is people still rush out and stand in lines or sleep in front of stores for them. Its a materialistic item get a grip theres more hype then need
