Can’t get enough of Facebook? Here’s how to use it on your Palm smartphone.

Facebook2_3

Anyone who uses Facebook knows how addictive it is. It was recently ranked by M:Metrics as one of the sites people visit most often on their mobile devices. Palm Centro and Treo smartphone users can use Facebook for Palm to check in on their Facebook friends, and a lot more, when they’re away from their desktops.

You can use Facebook for Palm to:

• Send and receive messages
• View and post status updates
• View and post photos from your smartphone
• See your friends’ profiles and photos
• Read and write Wall posts
• View News Feed
• Upload videos taken from your Palm smartphone
• Use a mobile “Contacts” tab that aggregates friends phone numbers – view your list of friends and dial or text them directly

Facebook for Palm is compatible with Palm Centro smartphones. For more details visit http://www.palm.com/facebook. Also, you can download directly to your Palm phone by visiting http://mobile.palm.com/facebook.

the app is great.
but do you guys know if there is a way to see the whole pics?, the app resize the pics, but bigger than 320x320, and there is no way to drag the pics to see the edges.
Am I missing something?

It uploads pics from my Sprint Treo 755p nicely. I can't figure out how to upload video.

thank you

Facebook is very nice, but when do you plan to release Youtube application like Nokia N Series or even iPhone?

It is gonna be REALLY nice!

This is a great app! I love that fact that Palm can still develop apps for the Palm. Seems like it's been forever.

So, when will Google Maps "My Location" be made available for the 755p?

Any ides if there is a plan to update the app so that a notification appears on the home screen when people write on your own wall?

Just installed this on my Sprint Treo 700p without the firmware upgrade and it works like a champ!

anyone know if you can pick a photo and Send via BT? Send me an email please. jhulton@gmail.com

How the heck do you log off??

I was able to download and install the Facebook app (twice - don't ask..) on my 700p. From the mobile.palm.com page I left the phone dropdown alone and selected Sprint as my carrier. The install app d/l'ed fine, and the app works perfect.

Warning: the application is a major battery drain! In less than 2 hours, my Centro's battery status went down to 50%!

Once logged in, the Facebook application continues to connect to the network, even when not the front running application. After quitting the application, I noticed the network icon flashing. With further troubleshooting, narrowed it down to this application that always runs unless one goes to the preferences and logs out.

The application needs preference settings to:
1) indicate how frequently to connect to the network, and
2) stop/start background connections without logging out.

For now, I'll use the Facebook mobile website (http://m.facebook.com) unless I need to upload a photo.

Just found out this program even was around and I am already in love with it. Thanks everyone!

Why can't you see notifications and respond to peoples postings?? Will this kink be worked out soon???
