Please push out a new Palm edition phone to AT&T with built in GPS & WiFi. I love my 680, but I need these two features.

YT

Are they going to come out with some other colors for the 755P or is the azure green the only color we can expect?

Dave

HAHAHAHA Why is Google Maps being integrated INTO the ROM a bullet? Has Palm received SO MANY complaints about people having to go to the trouble of DOUBLE-CLICKING A .PRC FILE that they bowwd down to the powers that be and gave us what we all wanted - AND WHICH THAT SAVES US A PRECIOUS .025 SECONDS! HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAH (Yeah, I bought one already.)

NN

Please, please, please finalize a GSM version for AT&T/Cingular! I would also love to see a Treo with GPS and WiFi, but in the meantime could we please just get an updated handset? Thanks!

Alex

God, it's so dated. Do you have a design team or are you using copy and paste?

bob

Yeah, so? Under the hood, it's just a 700p with miniSD, a smaller battery, & no antenna. It has the same issues that the 700p has (maybe more).
What happened to the innovation?

Cliff

Here's a reason why Verizon should never be given exclusivety lock on a smartphone. By the time it is released to the public, testing took so long that it's already very dated.

Eric

The 'Different carriers have different requirements and test cycles' is killing Palm. In Europe (at least the Netherlands) we buy other branched phones in normal/phone stores. So not the carrier dictate what a phone must and can do, be the customer. The carrier picks the phones which can bind the most customers to them. It's time Palm releases phones first to the public. Wasn't Ed Colligan who said that they wanted to be free in their decisions, and that's why they want to build their own Palm OS instead of ALP. So be free from the carriers and release always a CDMA and a GSM version of the same type at the same time.
Let the customer decide.

fyi, I have the 755p. warning on the voice dialing thing mentioned. He makes it sound like it's free, but it's not. You have to pay a monthly fee for the voice dialing if you want it. What a strange concept - esp when most phones these days have voice dialing as standard - even the cheaper ones.

Reggie

what happened to a higher capacity processor, more memory, wider screen with all those previous functions and add the capability of calling a phone number from any part of the phone (calendar, notes, word etc)

Bryan Bench

I am returned mine going back to my 5yr old Kyocera 7135 has more features like calling a phone number from any part of the phone (calendar, notes, word etc)
A magor down fall.

Jason

Last Sunday....I bought latest Palm Treo 755p from Verizon Wireless store through Couponalbum.com and I saved $100 and received free shipping also......!

Mitchell

I just got the palm 755p with Verizon service.
1)Can you initiate a phone call with a blue tooth headset? I can receive and hang up, but not make a voice activiated call
2) My phone is not recognized by My TomTom home page, and therefor can not update any TomTom map info. Does anyone know the secret to doing this?

Larry

After reading some of the comments to this blog entry and a few others, I can at least take some comfort that I'm not the only exasperated person out here. Let me say first, I LOVE Palm, but you are making it difficult. The comments about dated hardware is spot on. You guys OWNED the market but seem to be eager to hand it over to the iPhone, Blackberry, etc. with warmed over versions of the same 3 year old technology.

OPTIONAL, monthly cost voice dialing? My Motorola V60 had voice dialing!

Low-res cameras? Still?

2.5 headphone jack with stereo adapter?

Bluetooth 1.x? Still?

On another note, other than comments to the blog, there is little official outlet to contribute constructive comments to Palm. I'm still longing for a replacement for the LifeDrive. You guys were really on to something there (as seen with the iPhone/iTouch). But again, development time was too long and the product was dated by the time it arrived and probably too expensive. Please consider selling a successor with more memory, Bluetooth 2.0/stereo, camera, with or without phone SOON!

Too Bad...I bought a blackberry pearl and sold my 700p. Im not gonna say I dont miss it, because I really liked my treo and some of its capabilities, but compare it to my BB and you can really see how Palm is way behind.

Danil Smirnov

Dear Santa!

I wish Palm TX2 for the New Year. It's features:
1) bluetooth audio handsfree support
2) more than 2GB SD-card support
3) GPS chip on the board
4) mini-USB reliable connector

And newer processor, battery and more memory of course. :-)

Please bring it to me and I'll be absolutely happy!

Deno

It's a good thing for Palm and Verizon that more potential buyers don't read the blogs... If they did Palm might just evaporate.

I'm still dealing with my Sprint 700p doing it's random reset on an average of 2 to 3 time a day. Internal diagnostics show no error, just a reset so impossible to fix. Even with a naked configuration it likes to reset, often in the middle of an email or even on a call!

I use my 700p for personal use and a Blackberry for business. The 700p is going on eBay tonight. I can deal with defective products, but not a defective organization that ignores their formerly loyal following.

Please please please make the 320x320 screen Treo 750 come out in Q1 2008. I want to take it back to my country (where there is only W-CDMA and no GSM). I like the Treo 750, but I am used to the beautiful 320x320 screen of my 755p. I am not sure I would be satisfied with 240x240 especially when the bottom row is used for displaying the soft key functions.

I love my 755p but I can't use it in my country when I return. If there is Palm OS Treo with W-CDMA, I will definitely buy it. But until it comes out I will wait using the 320x320 Treo 750.

WHEN IS PALM COMING OUT WITH THE NEXT WINDOW BASED TREO FOR VERIZON.

leftystrat

I just got done my 2yr contract on my 700p and wondered what kind of upgrade was available. It seems like these are the major points: 1. it's prettier 2. it's smaller 3. it has no external antenna I've been with Palm since the 180. I championed standardizing on 700p's at my company. I laugh at the iPod fans because my phone could do it long before theirs was a thought. What do I get for my trouble? "It's prettier." The business and `people with a clue' markets honestly value function over form, unlike the consumer market (Centro anyone?). How about a blazing fast processor? More stable OS (linux?)? [my Big Two] Better headphone connector mount? Maybe some sort of usb port? Playing a laugh sound when it comes near a Windows OS phone? Thanks, -lefty

DAVID

Can someone recommend a handwriting notepad for treo 755p that also provides and index of hand written note topics
Thanks

HughO

A palm user since the 270 says pls notice we are in the macworld zone, hopefully Palm will have significant upcoming press releases. A significant release would contain screenshots or comps of the re-designed Palm os. Insignicant: new colors, same screen size, unincreased SD capacity. My gsm treo is ready for upgrade, maybe an iPhone-sized screen but with cut & paste and a fast browser.

Louis Izq

Its time to standardize.
Take some tips from the blackberry crowd:

Standardize your USB connector
How many treo's did you make now? Does it hurt to put the phone-jack connector on the side? Or on top? (Gasp). Stabilize the unit. Get a better OS. Grow up: time to slam more technology into these phones GPS, WiFi. But only after you perfect bluetooth. Don't succumb to your vendors. Verizon/Sprint

hate to criticize but yo would think after how many iterations of the Treo you would do something different? Dare to Dream?

At least you got the antenna gone and the rubbery feel is nice.

Jennifer

I hope the version for Verizon is better than the version for Sprint. I have had one replaced already and the 2nd is already doing the same thing the first one did. JUNK. The volume button stops working and you have to remove the battery and the phone reboots on its own.

Troy Helms

To bad the latest and greatest device from Palm, STILL can't be synced with an OS that's been out OVER A YEAR! Give us Vista 64 Bit drivers for these new devices please to go with our OLD OS!
