While it's not fair to say that the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade for Treo 750s has been delayed (because... [Read More]

Wonderful. I wish it would have happened already, but this is good to hear.

how soon is soon we have been waiting since March for near future release of wm6 to regular no corporate 750 att customers. It seems like everybody except att customers have an official update to wm6 I realize somebody has to be last but this is America how come att america is the last to get this this update. Some of us if not most use this for business myself included. How about "get'r done"???????

What does "just around the corner" mean? This month? December? Or sometime in 2008?

I've given up on Palm for the WM6 update. Think I'll sell my 750 on ebay. Too disappointing.

looks like palm is headed to microsoft to have their rears saved. b/c it sure ain't Palm OS II slated for 2009!

I was a loyal Palm/ATT customer for years. I purchased this phone in January on the date of Release for $600. At the time I was told that it would have Blackberry connect and HSDPA. I tried to return the problem ridden phone within two weeks and was assured by both Palm and ATT that they were releasing software to fix all the problems but have yet to do so. When I call Palm support they Refuse to tell me when or where I can get the upgrade and are reading from a script.

I will now convert my entire sales force to Blackberry or Samsung.

When does just around the corner mean ??

Please give us some idea about what "just around the corner" means.

around the corner = soon. Which is what palm and att have been saying since july. Nothing new here just more spinning.....I'm dizzy

Maybe they spent all their efforts towards the Foleo *gag*.

We have similar theme related site http://www.treoshack.com and offering treo phone accessories.May you will get all the information here.

Thanks

Nice information and good to hear.

I find the term,"just around the corner",both patronizing.and offensive.
Your customer base deserves a more definitive answer than that.
I remember askiong my Mother when Christmas was coming. Her answer"its just around the corner".
Should I check my stocking Chritmas morning for Windows Mobile 6
I,m very displeased with the method by Microsoft,Palm and AT&T HAS HANDLED the introduction of the upgrade for the 750.
Not customer oriented,inaccurate and deceitful.
May you all get coal in your stocking and a hostile takeover by Apple.
D.Canno,M.D.

Well...what do ya know! Another stall and another spin. Vague, vague, vague! You would have done better by giving it to us straight. Again, no release dates. Sorry Palm. My sales force is jumping ship. Flip...here we come!

"Just around the corner" Sheesh! It's been "just around the corner" since last January when I bought this stikin phone. I was a loyal Palm user but I'm moving on to Samsung and probably never looking back. Palm is too bulky and lacks imagination. Goodbye Palm, hello WM6...finally.

Sounds like Sony = Soon.Only.Not.Yet

Personally I am so sick of this. I am running the unbranded version on my ATT 750 and it works great. I am just running the 1.13 software version, unlike the 2.23? that everyone else is running that has an official version.

Give me a 750 with the screen resolution of the 650 or 680, and you'll have a sale for my entire company.

I, too, am appalled at the way this update has (that is if it really is coming, for real, now) come to market. I purchased my Treo from AT&T in May (and one for my wife) with the understanding from the AT&T rep that the update would be available "really soon." It's now just over 6 months since then, and still no update. And, if you call Palm and ask for an update, they point you to AT&T.

AT&T says they don't know when it will be ready but to check Palm's website.

Neither company has done a good job stepping up and owning this customer experience issue.

I have to admit that this has been the most frustrating customer experience I've had in years, amplified by the fact it is not one company causing this frustration, but two.

Why doesn't Palm and AT&T agree to a public date?

What's with the "real soon, we promise" line?

Why isn't AT&T and Palm offering rebates or refunds to those who have suffered through this experience for the many months we have?

And, why do other versions of the Treo 750 have updates already, and yet AT&T customers are left to wait?

I like this blog, and many of the posts are interesting. It would be great to get someone like Ed Colligan post again to apologize to the customers who "bought in" to the platform and have experience these frustrating delays. Mr. Colligan has already posted once to talk about the demise of the Foleo. It would be nice to hear from him on this subject, especially since this will likely be the last Palm device I purchase.

i purchased my treo 750 in January when it was released also. Since then i have been told "the upgrade is coming soon" It maked no sence that everybody around the world including unlocked 750 owners have gotten this upgrade but there's problems with the upgrade for at&t...just another excuse. if they weren't going to release this upgrade for ALL TREO USERS, it shouldn't have been released at all. It's annoying how you call Palm and they refuse to give any information...their customer service, or should i say lack of, is horrible and they are not honest with us who spend our hardf earned money on their products. they could have at least explained what the situation is with the delay but rather say "we are not allowed to give any information other than it's coming soon" Well i've been hearing it's coming soon for 11 months so i said screw Palm and got myself the ATT Tilt/HTC Tytn II and this phone is buch better then the treo. Might i add that HTC's customer service is also not as secretive as Palm. To all those left still waiting...don't hold your breath because i do not believe we are going to see this upgrade in the year 2007 AS PALM PROMISED IN THEIR MARCH 27, 2007 PRESS RELEASE.

Wow, I cannot believe that they have the gumption to tell us to wait, it'll be just around the corner.

The sole reason I bought this phone when it came out was because I was promised that it would have wm6 update within a couple of months. Sorry, it's been 11 months.

Palm just lost a loyal customer with lots of influence over a large group of buyers, if they are this bad with providing customer service and keeping their promises, I'll go somewhere else.

i'm just curious, everyone is asking for the free upgrade however has anyone purchased the Exchange Server 2007 which is needed to realize most of the features of WinMo 6? Also, if all of the other Palm Treo deviecs have higher screen resolution than the WinMo devices, wouldn't that mean it's a Microsoft Support issue? anyway, i've used other WinMo devices and I am happy to wait for the palm enhancements for easier use.

I also bought the phone because Palm promised will come with an upgrade soon. I'm disappointed but I like my phone so I'll probably wait anther month or so but I would certainly check my stocking.

Around the corner??
Is that next week or next month or next year Palm???

I bet the iPhone gets an SDK before I get my WM6 upgrade on my iPhone. Maybe that's the device to have. At least their specific on release date and actually keep them.

I was a loyal Palm customer for several years and have purchased close to 300 treo 750's for the firm I work for. After dealing with issue after issue related to wm5 the firm elected to try the Iphone. it has been 2 mo and I have spent less than 30 min dealing with an iPhone issue I thank my company for their decision. Bye Palm. You should have never put windows on you devices!

Where's the response from Palm?

It is clear from comments to this blog posting, that many paid customers are having the same challenges?

Why can't someone from Palm provide any information beyond nebulous statements?

Does Palm expect to remain solvent if they don't listen to their customers?
