Whoa :) Surprises are nice :) but is it the same "Phone". Is the "Centro" a service Palm is planning for downloads of music and video over the air? :)

PacManFoo

Oh wow hold me back another Smartphone. Yawn. OK now where is the TX2, or the Lifedrive2.

Khertan

It s a Treo 765.

What's new ?

- Expenses application. With a great cool powerfull feature. Categories can be set by the user.

maceyr (of Palmdiscovery.com)

Wow. I'm surprised that Palm is finally starting to go through the internet and actually address all the rumors and what have you that's out there. This is definitely a change that I wasn't expecting. This is good. Maybe Palm is changing afterall.

Dieter

orly?

ja rly!

Nice to see you guys teasing us, actually, I like me some buzz.

Whatever

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's Irrelevant.

You folks rehash the same stale OS and hardware with minor tweaks for years...and you think we care anymore? Wake up.

I tripped over this link on my way to find the directions to my local Apple and/or AT&T store.

Yawn. Too little too late.

are you still earning money from phones... N95, iPhone, HTC Touch...just another horrible gargantuan phone.

you have to develop the new palm high-end series... the world is waiting for a real notebook killer!!! just look a Wii! more ideas than power.

Patrick J

Now that's what I'm talking about... little Tid bits of information, some speculation on what it could be and someone from Palm saying, "Nah ah..." & saying more details are coming, that keeps one's eyes & interest peaked. Question is: will it be something that we have all been clamoring for?

Gerard

It's the Treo 500!

Joe

It would be nice if palm were to release a new PDA device that I could use to replace my sony clie. Something that has wifi, bluetooth, a 1.3M camera or better, a decent screen, and does all the normal palm stuff. Something that did not have a phone. Something that did not run Windows Mobile and costs around $250ish. Basically a T|X with a camera on it and a small price drop.

Pazu

To be frankly I'm already being so sick of waiting for another Palm or Treo that I almost want to give it up. I've been using Palm since 1997 when Palm was still made by US Robotics, but your company kept us disappointing in recent years.

Treo 650 was such a fantastic product, but after waiting for so long the product update was only a Treo 680? No Treo with no wifi, only a bigger memory and nothing more else? It's like a joke!

Okay, what's going next? I'm not too optimistic, but I'll wait.

James

Please tell me that there will be WiFi.......

navyyang

Oh?

it's a new WM treo?

SSGPat

I would just like to know what they are working on. I am about to get a new phone and want a Treo Windows Mobile 6 with a ton of RAM and HHD and EVDO B(or whatever the faster EVDO is called).

If they don't have something in the works for Verizon, I may have to go another route. If I knew that they were working on something, I would wait because I like my 700w, it just doesn't have the power I would like.

ZuDfunck

After our treatment from Apple with the price drop ZuD may be in the mood for a change. Though I read about your latest phone it still seems clunky compared to an iPhone.

Or is that just my Apple loving bias kicking in again?

ZuD

tripwire

It's a smaller and cheaper Treo 750.
Yawn!

Alex

Oh the suspense! Not really, but I thought I'd play along. :)

Richard

Three must-haves for me:

1. Palm OS
2. UMTS
3. HSDPA

Jerry%20F.%20Giardina

please give us some real "tidbits" actual screen shots from address book ect, i AM TALKING ABOUT THE LINUX TREO. Are we going to have dual mode (GSM CDMA)? GPS, please give us some real hints (ON THE LINUX TREO)
AND WHEN WE MIGHT SEE THE REAL LIGHT OF DAY!!

also if the European release is going to be a non touchscreen windows mobile.

"WHAT IS GOING TO BE THE DIFFERENCE FROM THE COMPETITION"!!!! How are you going to come out in front. Why should one buy your new device (it's a bird, it's a plane)over the the Blackjack and the Motorola Q

Alex

Amazed at what has unfolded over the last few weeks. Looking forward to what Palm will offer once more, having been a big fan of it since the Palm Pilot!

MaSa

Well, I am happy to have the opportunity to win a new Palm Smartphone. Thank you, Palm.

But why are you giving 5 items to one winner? Will it be a low price mass product?

In other words: Wouldn't it more efficiant (regarding market presence) to send 1 phone to each country?

Palm, in case you listen to the users voice: If the phone you release on sept 12th is "just" a low price mass product, my next phone (to be ordered sept 13th!, after your annoucement) will/would be an iphone.

Positive view: If it will be a Treo 680 successor (to me a TX+phone), I am going to buy it immediately (and Palm will be our heroe). (I am sure in this case you'll bring iphone into trouble :-)

MaSa

Scott G

If it's not linux or windows based, then you're going in the wrong direction. Preferably linux based, because I'm sick of Palm OS and it still manages to beat Windows.

You're not the only incompetent, misdirected company around, but you're the only one who has managed to give me a mobile device that isn't infuriating. Hell, I think I'd prefer symbian to whatever you come up with, for Linux. But as long as you can give me an upgrade to Palm OS, with the same design philosophy, I'll take it.

Wow!
Maybe the folks at palm can finally fix the software updates for the 700p?

D. Knowe

Wow and double wow! More buzz... Maybe this phone will actually work! :)

Palm, in case you listen to your user's voice: If the phone you'll release on sept 12th will be "just" a low price mass product, my next phone (to be ordered sept 13th!, right after your annoucement) will/would be an iPhone.

(Palmuser since 1999, still love you, Palm ;-)
