We have temporarily taken down the Verizon Wireless Treo 700p and 700w/wx updaters as a result of reports from customers who have experienced data network connectivity issues after installing the software updaters on their device.
The issue is caused by a device setting that affects connectivity to the Verizon Wireless network under certain situations and only occurs on devices that have installed the updaters. Users receive an error message and typically can reconnect to the data network after a short period of time. This data connectivity issue does not affect the device or personal data in any other way.
We are currently working on delivering a solution and will repost the updaters as soon as they are available. If you would like to be notified by email when the updaters are available, please submit your email address: Treo 700p - Treo 700w/wx.
Treo 700p and 700w/wx users on Verizon Wireless experiencing the data connectivity issue will see the below error messages more frequently:
- "Error 3000 - Data network is not available"
- "Page Cannot Be Displayed"
- "Answering Modem is Disconnected"
Also, the Sprint Treo 700p desktop updater is no longer available due to additional reports of an installation issue that causes the device to continuously reset when installing the software update. The SD/MMC expansion card updater will continue to be available. You won't need to reinstall the software update if you have already done so successfully.
If you have experienced an issue with installing any of the above software updates, please contact us: Verizon Wireless users 866-770-7256; Sprint users 866-750-7256.
Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience.

I got an email yesterday that a new update 1.10 was available. When I followed the link I was taken to the page that explains why the update was taken down. Thanks for the false hope Palm. My Q is on the way.

Iam to say the least VERY DISAPPOINTED with Palm. Ive been a loyal customer for too long to be treated like a bald-headed stepchild. How dare you avoid your customers! None of our questions are being answered. What was the reason behind creating this blog? Just so they WE can hear ourselves complain? I thought it was created to INCREASE customer support. But I see now that this blog was created only to give your users a false sense of hope. Your "redirection" to other Palm community websites further proves my point. In other words "find the solutions" to the problems with your devices ourselves. If I contact my cellular provider, they have me contact Palm. If I contact you, You tell me to contact my cellular provider. What a croc!. Im going back to Nokia.

I'm on my 3rd palm 700p in 6 months. In addition to all problems mentioned above, the most alarming to me, which I haven't read yet, is that my calendar has been completely erased when I hot sync. It erases both the desk top and the palm itself. When I inquired with Verizon re: this problem, they told me that they had heard about a software issue. They sent me a new phone (the first treo to do it was a "refurbished" unit that I had been given when my original 700p screen just completely went black), which just wiped out my calendar again.
I want to love palm as i always have. I too was a pilot user for many generations, but I am at my wits end. Impossible to do business this way. So I will once again stand in line at Verizon and plead for another phone or solution to my problem...precious time and money wasted, never to be retrieved. I'm going to ask for a Blackberry.

I tried to update the 700w last night. I followed the instructions exactly, and I never disconnected the cable. Now I have a broken phone that just shows a Treo splash screen with the numbers 3.01 at the top. Releasing an update that will break a person's phone if the tiniest thing goes wrong is not the way to do things. I will never buy another Palm product. I used to love Palm, but this is just ridiculous.

So, from what I'm reading...I'm better off with a Blackberry?

I have a Treo 700W, Verizon. Since I updated, Bluetooth turns off randomly. I would settle for having the original firmware to re-install. Know where I can get it? Is it the same link as for 700P?

I did the update for my treo 700p and had the CDMA updater for me to download. It told me not to restart or turn off my phone during the update, but my phone automatically did it. It's not "getting" the downloaded material as my version is still -1.10 VZW. Suggestions?
