Home Run #756 - Barry Bonds Goes Yard
It's amazing to witness historical events first-hand, but it's even cooler when you can record it and take a physical copy of the memory home with you (hey, sometimes it comes in handy to prove to your friends that you were really there or just to have for when the old memory isn't as sharp as it use to be).
Last night, we (and a couple of other Palm employees) recorded video footage of Barry Bonds' MLB record-breaking 756th career home run on our Treo smartphones - check it out.

Here are some pictures from last night (shot with digital camera)...

What model Treo did you take that on or is it a new super secret model?

Beware of posting video without permission. I love my treo, however it is really frustrating when I have to leave mine at home when I go into certain venues, simply because some people don't know when they can legally use their cameras.

Have you watched and listened to what you posted on YouTube? Maybe my computer sucks but that is one of the fuzziest videos and most garbled soundtracks that I have ever seen or heard.

I'm surprised that MLB hasn't come after you with and youtube with a cease & desist letter to take down "their" footage.

Nice to see someone posting positively about Bonds' incredible accomplishment, and not joining in the racist din singling him out as a 'cheater.' Exactly how many drug tests has he failed? Zero? That's right. Thanks, Palm! =]

It's cool to watch, even cooler to record it...t will be the coolest when the quality of such video is actually something enjoyable to watch. Someday.

Yeah yeah, the video isn't perfect (work on that Palm), but it still gets the jist of things across. And I seem to remember another phone not having video at all (I believe it rhymes iclone).

Good thing you posted this one quickly considering he has hit two more home runs in just a couple days.

Not top secret - was shot with an unlocked Treo 680.

Sorry to break your excitement, but that is some crappy video quality. It is high time Palm improved video picture quality cause more and more people experience timeless moments on the go. Just a few months ago, I was fortunate to be in a Party with Jay-Z P.Diddy, Usher and 50 cent. I whopped out my Treo to take some memorable shots. Look a the crappy results i got
