The new version of Versamail no longer allows you to delete an e-mail from the phone but leave the original on the server! Thus, I can't delete anything from the phone. This is insane.
Anyone have a fix?

With the problems documented here, is it possible to release just a fix for the Verizon to Verizon text messaging freeze problem?

Since upgrading my Treo 700p to 1.10, I cannot access data service after making a call. I receive "Error 3000, Data Service Not Available" I must cancel it and try 4-5 times before data service comes back for email, or soft reset the phone. Palm has already replaced the phone and I have done several soft resets. I need to know how to fix this error.
PLEASE HELP

I have been a huge Palm fan for a very long time but I just can't take it anymore. I did the update about a week ago. It mostly went fine...improved Bluetooth, no more freezes with Messaging (yippee!) and slightly faster Blazer. But, I started getting the Error 3000 message virtually every time I tried to retrieve my e-mail through SnapperMail and every once in a while when I tried to get onto the web. I looked all over the 'net for a solution and someone suggested shutting down the phone, removing the battery and reinserting the battery. I did that tonight. What a HUGE mistake!!! It sent my phone into the endless, infinite reset loop. The only thing that stopped it was a hard reset. Of course, I'm out of state without either of my laptops for another few days so I can't do a HotSync. That means living with a virtually useless Treo til Tuesday night. At least, I can still make/receive calls but I have never had these kinds of problems with my most recent work Blackberries. I can't switch to an iPhone b/c it's not on Verizon but I swear I'm switching to a personal Blackberry the first chance I can. I stuck with you as long as I could Palm but this is just unacceptable. I'm willing to listen if you have something to offer to win me back but it's going to take a lot at this point. This is a sad day for me. Palm has finally, irreparably broken my heart.

I upgraded my VZW 700W to the latest and now BT is more troublesome than ever. Old FW used to lose association with my Jabra BT250 occasionally. New FW I do not lose association but now EVERY time I get a call I have to hit the right menu button and scroll down to "Connect BT" and then I can have my conversation. Sounds really awkward and unprofessional to the caller. Why do I have to manually connect my BT every time? What is the point of HF BT now? I reverted back to my wired headset.
Does someone from Palm management look at these posts? I need help!

Well after the upgrade, like everyone else, my data connection doesn't work properly. It now show that I have a 1X data connection at my house even though it is EVDO and also gives me the famous Error 3000. This sucks as I NEED my email access for work. Also, my Blue tooth was flawless before with my JX10 but now after the "UPGRADE" it crackles all the time. PLEASE FIX this stuff will you?

I tried to do the 1.10 upgrade on my Treo 700P. It got stuck in a power cycle loop and rendered the phone permanently stupid. It was over a year old, so Verizon wouldn't do anything about it. I was grateful Palm stood behind it by sending me a refurbed phone with 1.10 already flashed on. It seemed like Bluetooth was better because I had been having major problems with that.
But now whenever I'm outside of Verizon's EVDO network, I constantly get "Error 3000" when trying to do Wireless Sync or when accessing the browser. If I keep trying, I eventually will get on the network, but then I will continually get "Page cannot be displayed..." on the browser.
I also use the Treo as a tethered device so I can put my laptop on the internet. I need this while at a customer site. When I use VZ Access Manager to dial up, I get a response: "The remote computer did not respond." Again, if I keep trying, I will get on, but then any attempt to access a site on Internet Explorer on my laptop just stalls and stalls. This is totally unacceptable!
I’d rather have the old operating system on my phone with all its quirks and problems than have this phone with lack of connectivity on the 1X network. Palm better come up with a fix jiffy quick. And the update better not crash the phone like it did before!!!

By the way, what happened to Solitaire in 1.10? Wasn't it there before in 1.00?
Posted by: billvo | August 01, 2007 at 07:10 AM
I'm almost hesitant to post this for fear of jinxing myself but...I got back home from my out of town trip and Hot Sync'd last night. BT still works well, Messaging is still not freezing up and now no more Error 3000 messages!! If all this sticks, it was worth the endless reset loop and having to Hot Sync.
Maybe I'm not done with Palm just yet. :-)

I've had it. I'm a software engineer by trade, and I've developed applications for the Palm OS. I have a thorough understanding of what it takes for software to make it through the QA process, and I'm disappointed that Palm's unprofessionalism and lack of pride caused such a disaster. Shame on Palm's engineering and quality assurance teams!

About two weeks ago I started getting Error 3000, failing to connect to the network. This was BEFORE installing ROM version 1.10. The Verizon tech suggested a hard reset and installing 1.10. I did. The network connectivity didn't improve, so Verizon sent a new Treo. The new Treo is having the same connectivity problems. Next step? iPhone!

Yea, uhh...I hope that Palm is going to release a patch pretty soon for this "Error 3000" bug that has been affecting a lot of 700p's since the MR was installed. Any news on a patch to fix this problem, Palm???

The mail envelope notification was delete with this release (confirmed by your support team). Why was this no in the release notes? This WAS a feature that I depended on. Very frustrating I might say seeing how it has been there since 600.

This is all too funny. A patch for a patch? You'll all have to wait till May 2008 for it!
Look at Apple: One month after release and a security update already addressing some critical issues (ie security flaws). That's support.

Stephanie,
I wouldn't come here for help. Go to TreoCentral.com. They have a great forum for Treo users.

I am currently on my 4th Verizon 700P. The first 3 had the error 3000 not connecting to the internet problem, and the dial tone problem as referenced everywhere on Treo websites. Now on my 4th phone which was lucky enough to get with the older version (1.06) of the operating system. All works fine know, but I did like the improvements that were welcomed with the MR update. I want to update, but need to first ask some very simple questions. Is there a problem with the MR that is causing the error 3000 and dial tone sounds when set to silent? Does this happen with everyone using the MR? Should I do the update now, or is there going to be a revised (improved) update? Will you or Verizon give me a 5th phone if the MR "unimproves" my phone? Just some honest answers on what is going on, and what to expect. That is the purpose of this blog, isn't it?
Love my Palm based Treo's, but will have to switch if no immediate answers to the questions.

I did the update PER THE INSTRUCTIONS (Ben, I can read!). It is a mess. To make a long story short, Verizon said "it's Palm's problem. Palm said "it's Verizon's problem. I love the buck passing. I ended up doing a hard reset and it works a little better. At least the phone does not freeze whan a call comes in. I still get the 3000 error quite often. The bluetooth still disconnects. Versamail works worse than before the update.
I wonder what Verizon and Palm were thinking if at all. I assumed (oops I should not have done that) that just maybe there was some testing of the software before it was released.
What is even worse Palm sure isn't saying or doing anything about this.
Maybe Microsoft had something to do with writing the code. Hmmmmm.....

Need versamail for 700p Verizon. I just received a new 700p today. Versamail is not on the disks and the link to it from the Palm disk gets an error 404 message.
I need (yes desparately) the web address for the windows 3.5 download (not hte 3.5.4 update.
Please send it to my email.
Thank-you

In light of all the problems being experienced by 700p users, especially after the Verizon 1.10 MR
CAN SOMEONE FROM PALM AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AND LET US KNOW WHAT IF ANYTHING IS BEING DONE ABOUT IT!!! TOTAL SILENCE IS UNACCEPTABLE!!
Posted by: Isaac | August 06, 2007 at 08:02 AM
OK, after A LOT of calling, complaining and troubleshooting this happened - Palm itself bought my 700p off of me for what I paid retail (299 after my "new every two" from VZW). THEN I faxed Verizon my email confirmation from my Palm return as well as my FedEx receipts from sending it back to Palm and got Verizon to reset my "new every two". That means it's like I never bought the 700p in the first place as far as money and my VZW account go. You guys might want to look into it.

I was told by technical support that the freezing of the palm would be resolved with the new MR. It still freezes when the signal is low with the new MR. What do I do now? Please E-mail my your reply!

JUST CRAP IMO. I wanted to do the update just because it's the latest. Well after the update I did a Full Restore from cardbkup program (backs up to a sd card) and what do you know, my phone enters the Reset Loop. Now I learn that I can't do a full restore. So I start restoring the calander, contacts, memo's and tasks databases first. Thank gog that worked. Now I start to restore each app at a time. Well it's been hell but I am getting there. I just hate that all my customizations were wiped out and I have to start over. At least the main info I have been saving since my original Palm III back in 1999 is ok! We're talking about 1,000 entries of contact info, Date book with critical dates and appointments entered, 150 memo's which are various online passwords, websites, and whatever info I can think of that's helpful is put into memo's. Then I just use the security feature to hide secure stuff.
Anyway, I would suggest that if you don't need "true push" technology and your current bluetooth works, then don't do the update!!!! The worst part is that I didn't even need to do the update, I use versamail and have it retreive email every 30 minutes and my bluetooth was already working so I did it only because it's the latest and greatest which was a mistake!!!

I applied 1.10 to my 700p and immeadiately started having intermittent trouble with network connectivity. Occasional Error 3000 but usually just Blazer or Versamail timeouts on about 50-75% of connection attempts. Verizon acknowledged a problem with the update and sent a refurb 700. Received and activated it. It had 1.10 preinstalled. Error 3000 on 99% of connection attempts. The rep swapped me back to the original 700p and without any software/hardware changes to that unit it now gives Error 3000 on 99% connection attempts.
What a mess...

After having installed MR1.10 I've experienced several of the same 'issues' or 'modified features' described by other in these postings. 1) what happend to the new mail notification icon on the status bar ? 2) why did the green check marks indicating message receipt dissapear from the txt messaging function 3) also have the 'error 3000' from time to time and 4) most troublesome is that my call waiting function no longer works properly. If I have an incomming call while on the phone I get the 'beep' but then the first call seems disconnected, it goes dead. And the person on the other end of the call thinks the call went dead. In fact if I accept the second call I can then switch back to the first call and ask them to hold on. But if I decline the second call the first call is disconnected. Bottom line, call waiting is broke. Anyone else experiencing the same ? Great QC from Palm. Any chance of a new MR release to fix the problems soon ?
