Used SD card method and really went smoothly. You do need to "activate" the phone (*228) to get the Verizon header. Data issue with it is intermittent. Bluetooth with my 2006 Prius now shows battery charge, etc. My Treo 650 didn't even do that. I use a Nokia N770 with it through Bluetooth DUN- nice speed and easy setup. Not hanging as much on changing apps. Overall I was impressed with the changes. Heck, I got it through Amazon new for $50, I think it's a great deal.

I upgraded through the Palm website this past Saturday and everything went as planned. I see some small issues but nothing that I hadn't seen before the upgrade. Bluetooth works now and there is a much faster response between applications. The phone even seems to have more volume. Thanks you.

Installed the update for my 700p, now the thing doesn't connect to Verizon's network anymore. I can't help but think this is step back.
Thanks Palm!

After the upgrade my calendar is no longer synching with MS Exchange server, the contacts and email work fine but the calendar refuses to sync via direct push. Also I do hear system tones via the speaker when the phone is set to silent, not a major problem for me, but I can see other users having major problems with that, especially corporate users in meetings. Hope to have the calendar problem fixed soon.

Has anyone tried PDAnet modem operation after the update? If so, any problems or issues
Thanks, John

MR isnt too bad. Just doesnt fix all my issues. The data network connections are far worse where originally i had ZERO data connection issues. Unfortunately BT issues arent resolved. It does connect much faster and seem stabler but anytime the phone freezes especially during when I happen to dial out it reboots. Not once in awhile but twice in the span of 10 mins. It was a great honeymoon the 1st 24hrs but then my phone started to do the sporadic reboot for no apparent reason. I still think Bluetooth is broken even though it performs better.
Heres a BUG report from one of your beta testers:
The #*#377 (which shows you the error of your last crash doesnt work anymore. When my phone reboots it shows a crash log of 1-2 days ago from a different reason why it rebooted. I guess even debuggins is now broken.
*sigh*

Some users are having issues with their calendars no longer syncing events after they have installed the MR. If you're using Exchange Active Sync with VersaMail on your 700p, you'll need to download the latest version of VersaMail after you install the 700p maintenance release. Due to some code changes in the MR, the version of VersaMail that came with your handset (3.5.1) will no longer be able to sync your calendar items with Exchange. You can download the latest version of VersaMail here:
https://ws.palm.com/mypalm/MyPalmGenericUser/ControllerGeneric.jsp?&action=showbonus&productName=TREO700P.
You'll need the serial number of your handset to get the software.

After the update, which the install went very smoothly, some phone calls come in and freeze the 700P. I now need to press "get" to get email as it does not sync every 30 minutes like the settings show. When the Treo tries to get email it says the network is either busy or can not get broadband access.
There are other bugs too. THANKS PALM!!!

I tried the V1.10 update twice for my 700p. It cost Palm/Verizon 2 Treos. Bad update software; it seemed to have ruined the ROM. I would like to get the new 4GB SDHC card to make the MP3 function better, but now I'm afraid to download or upgrade anything.

I updated my vzw treo on Monday and now have intermittent problems with my wireless sync and data connections.
Also, now my favorites don't automatically dial the extra digits, and I sporadically get ORERR errors when using hot sync.
And I definately have sound coming from my phone when on silent.
How is it a company this large can release an MR with more problems than it solves? I just don't understand this. Especially since the sound problem occurred with the Sprint update, which was weeks ago.
This really makes me sad for the future of palm.

Took you long enough? But thanks, seems to be working better, although there is still somewhat of a lag with switching apps (Blazer especially).

Thanks for the suggestion about the "*228," that 'fixed' the phone screen problem and it now says 'Verizon Wireless' again. Odd, the instructions should have said that. Odd the update would have had that effect.
I am still very happy with the update, everything is going great. I am curious about the various people who are still having problems and have bricked their phones. What is the real difference? I had 1.06 on my phone before installing 1.10. What about the others? Could that be some of the problem? Just like my computers when I upgrade their OS, I get all the latest software releases and usually have to wait on a developer or two to get their new 'working' release out. Does everyone do this?
Anyway, thank you Palm, though I will still be converting to the iPhone unless something super-spectacular comes from you in the next two years.

I upgraded my Verizon phone to 1.10 and then had the same problem with calender sync. I repeatedly upgraded to Versamail 3.5.4 and cannot sync. I get a message reading "MM EAS FPI..."
I spoke with palm tech support and they said it is a known problem and are working on a fix. I went back to the older version of versamail so I could at least get email

update for my Verizon 700p went well except for one excepton. After install and Sync all looked good but it would not connect to the system. I found the Band had been reset to Automatic B. I tried reseting to Home but that did not work. Then checking phone info I found a line that indicated the hardware was A so I sent the Band to Automatic A. This worked and now I have a phone that connects but will still not find my computer using Bluetooth. Don't know what to do on this and waiting for the Hot Sync release for Vista. If it still does not work with bluetooth bye, bye Palm--Hello Blackberry.

Update 1.10 broke my 700p also. Endless reset loop. Verizon sent a new one which now doesn't have calendar sync. I am aggravated and would very much like to know what to do to recover my investment!

Palm has a lot off issues, no denying it, but i am amazed at just how many of you can simply not follow directions.

This data connection problem is really bad. I can't use data at all on 1x networks(error 3000), and have some errors on EV networks. I'd get a replacement but from what I heard all phones with this update have the same errors. Wish I didn't do this update.

I went about this upgrade a slightly different way than most. I recently called Verizon Wireless about a data connectivity issue (trying to use my 700p as a wireless modem). We couldn't get it working so, they sent me a new handset under warranty. Before I got the new handset, I saw the release of the MR 1.10. Well, when the new handset arrived, it already had the 1.10 installed so, I just did a sync, an activation, and I was good to go. New Treo, new version 1.10 of the software, and all my data on the phone.
The only issue I'm having (and, because I upgraded handsets AND software at the same time, I'm not sure which has the problem) is with the sounds/alerts. The things like the phone ring, the Calendar alerts, the SMS message notification...they sound "funny". The first part of the sound is muted...like the volume is ramping up. Hard to explain onomatopoetically but, instead of going "ding-dong" it's more like "..ng-dong". The first part of each sound is cut off. Not so bad when the phone rings 3 times but, for the Calendar alerts (I LIVE on my calendar), which are very short duration sounds, it's quite annoying. Increasing the volume of the alert doesn't help. The volume of the sound still starts at zero and ramps up.
Anyone else notice this? Should I call Verizon for a 3rd handset or is this an issue with the MR?

I too have the fuzzy/blurry/brown/yellow text issue. It appears to flash between good and bad depending on the device activity. It is always good after waking up the device with power. Likewise and toggle of screen on/off by tapping the power button always shows a good screen followed by the problem.
Turning off the radio doesn't help.

To Whom It May Concern;
I find it unacceptable that the Verizon 700p still has serious network errors after the update. I can no longer use the phone reliably as a tethered modem or to pick up e-mail. I firmly believe Palm should take a more serious look at these issues. In a few years from now Palm as we know it may no longer be in business. The Treo may end up in the trash heap, eclipsed by other devices that actually work. Palm has an obligation to do right by its users and should come up with a fair and quick resolution once and for all.

Did the update & now having difficulty with 1x connections (not available?).
Verizon says it's a Palm problem (corrupted patch) & silence from Palm.
What's the scoop? Is there a patch for the MR?

First Treo we did via sync and bricked it. Verizon sent a new phone in 3 days with 1.10.
Second Treo we used the SD card method. Took 20 minutes and worked like a charm.
Both Treos now work well with the only exception that it takes several tries to connect the web browser to the network.
Have not seen the yellow text or heard any funny sounds.
Tether works well (always has) and have seen dramatic improvments with bluetooth, changing between programs and even with the normal phone operation.
We use several 3rd party programs on the Treo's and they seem to play just as well as before... no problems.
Overall, I'm very happy with the update. We have a third Treo to update and will again use the SD card method.

For those of you having problems with a 700p after the 1.10 MR, I had some success. I too experienced two problems after the update that others have mentioned here: Emails display with the last character of the subject line missing, and Calendar doesn't sync with VersaMail and Exchange ActiveSync. I had installed the VersaMail upgrade to 3.5.4 before even trying to sync - verified on the handset, it did show the new version. What I did then that seems to have fixed it, was I uninstalled VersaMail, and installed it again. On the next sync, emails got their last letter of the subject line back, and Calendar does sync now, though only one-way: a new appoinment made on the Treo does not appear in Outlook, though everything in the Outlook calendar does now appear on the Treo. I guess I can live with that.

I have a 700wx with Sprint service. Is there a maintenance release scheduled for this phone?

Greg,
"..ng-dong". Yeah, me too but i did not change my hardware. So there's your answer
