We have seen several people inquiring about support for Palm Desktop on Windows Vista:

I wanted to let everyone know that we are working on a beta release of the new Windows Vista-compatible Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager software - time frame for the release is this summer. I will make sure to let everyone know when the software is available.
Also, here is a link with info on Windows Vista for Palm's Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices: http://www.palm.com/us/support/windowsvista/.

I just got a new computer that works with Windows Vista, and I can't use my Palm Zire 31 with it. I have spent 2-4 hours trying to figure out how to work around this, and have not had any success. I see that there is a beta patch for selected devices, but no indication of when I might be able to sync my device with my computer. Please update the information you have about this issue.

I feel like I was better off with my M125 and Windows 95 than I am with my Z72 and Vista. At least I had more functionality.
Will someone at Palm at least post an expected availability for the new Vista compatible (multi-platform or exclusive)Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager?

For some reason desktop beta for treo 680 will not run on my vista. hotsync works (with errors), but when I try to load the Desktop, Windows closes it down, says looking for solution. What gives?

Hello. I just installed my Palm m515 on my new laptop with Vista 32 bit but could not sync. Search indicated that I have to uninstall the software and then install beta version of software for vista. However, vista does not allow uninstalling my palm from control panel. How could I uninstall palm from vista? this is my first uninstall problem ever... Thanks in advance for your feedback

Some vista 64 drivers would be great. I purchased a $600 Treo phone and I cant use it to connect to my computer. This phone is garbage to me until I can.

I will not purchase another Palm device. It doesn't seem to matter how expensive the gadget it ... nothing's compatible with Vista.

The delay in Palm's release of Vista-compatible desktop software is beyond my comprehension. No wonder Palm stock is tanking. The delay is guaranteeing sales of competitive products which, in turn, creates future loyalty for those products. This company deserves to go under.

This is just ridiculous. Not only will Palm not release that will actually support all features in Vista x86, but they can't release ANYTHING that works in Vista x64! My Tungsten E won't install the drivers for itself! I used to be a big fan of Palm, but now...maybe linux is the way to go.

I agree with the above posts. I purchased a Treo755p and it is basically useless to me because it won't work with Vista. I truly don't know which one I hate more. What I will say is this, next time I'm going apple and I believe Palm will fade away. For the price I paid for this phone, you think their software people could make this work with Vista.
Shame.

I just purchased a new Palm that would work with Beta62 to allow Vista compatibility. Instructions say to uninstall old version first. I am trying to uninstall using control panel, and as it's trying to do an uninstall I get an error message "Internal Error 2372" so it won't let me uninstall. Any ideas on how I can get my old Palm desktop off this Vista so I can finally try this new software? Thanks for any help!

Just add me to the list of people running windows xp x64.
We've been waiting for quite a while now. The Handhelds are great, but I'm afraid my next one wont be from Palm anymore :(

Add me to the list of those waiting for a combined Vista-64 AND Outlook 2007 solution for synching my Treo 700p. I've used Palms since the original 1996 version, but this may be the end of the road. If I can't synch it, there's no point in packing that little Treo brick around. I've already deactivated it and turned my old Razor phone back on. I hope we see a solution soon.

If Palm can't be bothered to make a Vista-compatible desktop and install tool, could they possibly release the source code so that someone out there who knows what they're doing can have a go? My dad recently upgraded from Win98SE to Vista, and his M515 is now about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Sort it out please.

Can someone tell me how to uninstall Palm Desktop on my new computer running VISTA. I installed it before seeing that it was not compatible, but now I can't uninstall it.
Thanks
