We have seen several people inquiring about support for Palm Desktop on Windows Vista:

I wanted to let everyone know that we are working on a beta release of the new Windows Vista-compatible Palm Desktop and HotSync Manager software - time frame for the release is this summer. I will make sure to let everyone know when the software is available.
Also, here is a link with info on Windows Vista for Palm's Palm OS and Windows Mobile devices: http://www.palm.com/us/support/windowsvista/.

Dang it! I just bought a tx because I got tired waiting on newegg to get the hp210. Now I see it is not going to work in the 64 bit vista.
This is the 21 century?

p.s. wish I could back up my SMS messages on the desktop software! And the call log would be nice too.

I have lost all confidence in Palm. A once proud owner of my Palm PDA -- I've been using Palm products for the past 8 years -- I am now disgusted and looking into alternative options (Blackberry, Iphone, anyone?). The "updated" Palm Access software is good for nothing and does not work on my Vista laptop with my Palm TX (anyone having the same problem?) so I am forced to use a much older version of Palm OS. Shouldn't we be advancing ahead in today's modern world? I've lost data on more than one occasion and Palm online support is no help.

Yes the 15 categories limit sucks. I use the Palm T/X for MS Word. I have numerous folders on my desktop but have to fit them into the 15 categories in the Handheld. Because of this, Synching is a pain - if I move a file to a folder-within-a-folder on my desktop it goes 'missing' on my Handheld. I recently updated to the new 'version 10' of DataViz thinking this would have more than 15 categories. Waste of money! Still only 15 categories.

I have a lowly z22 model and recently had to get a new computer. Of course it has windows vista and I didn't know there was going to be a problem. I installed the software that is supposed to be vista friendly, but somehow the usb doesn't power or sync. It seems to not "see" the palm device. Any advice???
